Ozark Trail 3-Room XL Vacation Lodge Camping Tent 4.3 5 253 267
Home away from home I had trouble finding a campsite big enough to accomidate this huge tent, but set right to assembling it when I did. The quality is top-notch and the instructions- though kind of vague- helped me put it up in just under one hour-BY MY SELF!! The weather was sour for most of the ten days we camped & it stood up against downpours and decent wind. If a tent can keep Seattle rain out, it passes the test! It also has some cool features too:1) The front door flap doubles as a canopy in good weather.2) There is a zippered dog-door (small dogs only).3) There are four screened pressure vents that keep the tent stable in high wind.4) The room dividers are completely removable.5) There is a zippered power-port for routing an extension cord through.6) The entry-way screen uses three zippers that meet together so that a luggage lock can be put on (granted, a real thief would just slice his way through with a knife-but its still better than nothing).I stand six feet tall and can move around inside comfortably. Break-down of the tent went smoothly & folded up enough to fit inside the stylish carry-bag included. All-in-all, probably the best deal I ever got in a tent (I've owned MANY) & when I wear this one out, I'll be back to buy another one. 04/27/2010
Love the tent My husband and I were looking for a tent to hold up to 7 people with enough room to store our "stuff". We just got back from a week in The Outer Banks and LOVE this tent. This was our first time camping and can't wait to go again. Our first two days there we had t-storms. Thankfully, we followed everyone's suggestions to water proof the tent. Our only mistake was not using the longer stakes to secure the tent on sandy ground. We came "home" toward the end of a big t-storm to find one end of the tent up (our neighbor's tent had completely rolled over). We feared the worst but were surprised to find only a damp section on the air mattress (big deal) and a small puddle by the opening (easily cleaned up with a towel). We quickly resecured the tent with the larger stakes and had no more problems even with a couple of nights of high winds. Since it's a larger tent and is tall, it's not exactly aerodynamic. If you have any concerns about it coming loose in the wind, just buy the longer stakes that Walmart carries and use those. After using the first set of stakes, then trying the other set, I actually wished we had used the larger set in the first place; they were easier to use without having to set them at a 45 degree angle. They're thicker and go straight down into the ground with a lip that holds the tent loops down. The only thing my husband and I agreed was slightly annoying was the zippers on the end windows. Since the windows are rounded, the zippers sit together when the window is closed. If it's windy outside, the zippers hit each other as the fabric moves. At first, it wasn't too bad but after the second or third night of wind, it became annoying. My husband also agreed with the individual who posted that the awning was too low; he got tired of having to duck to get in/out of the tent, so after a while we just started tying it up. Since I'm shorter, I had no problems with it.We both agreed though that we loved the tent and can't wait to use it again. Since we had practiced setting it up at home, setting it up at the beach was a breeze. I wouldn't be surprised if it took all of 15-20 mins. to get it together-we didn't even use the directions the second time around. That's how easy it is. 06/20/2010
The tent is HUGE! We bought this tent for our expanding family. The first set up took a little bit of time, but setting it up again is easy. THIS TENT is huge! So much room inside, zippers were installed nicely (had a 4 year old checking and RE-checking EVERY SINGLE ONE. I looked around it thoroughly, didn't find any holes or tears. We sprayed the seams with water guard and left it out over night to dry. The following night we had a freak thunder and lightning storm, it was left out. The only spot rain got it was by the door and that was because I didnt close it. Tent did fine in the gusting winds as well. Only thing hold it down was what was provided, there was nothing inside to help it stay in place. Very happy with this product so far. 06/28/2009
LOVE LOVE LOVE Have a family of 5, two adults, and three young kids and let me tell you I spent alot of time researching family sized tents. we decided to buy this one and i couldn't be happier!!! We did purchase waterproof spray and pretreated it, focusing on the seams, and have NEVER had a leak in it. The inside is HUGE! we fit the two boys on one side of the tent with TONS of extra space, put the baby in a pack and play in the center and all of our stuff as well, and my hubby and I on a queen air mattress on the other side with room to spare! this tent is HUGE! It is easy to put together and take apart and fits easily back into it's carrying case! I just LOVE this tent and would recommend it to anyone who asked me!!! We never use the room dividers so its easier to move around, and we love the electricity port in it as well. just a great tent! 09/22/2009
