Doesn't keep the squirrels out. 12/31/2007
Certainly NOT squirrel proof We got this item for Christmas, thought it would be our answer to the squirrels. NO WAY! The squirrels were able to get the top off, they were able to knock it to the ground, they chewed the plastic tube that holds the food, they just completely demolished the feeder. We tried different area's We had it hanging from a shepards hook, moving it around. Unfortunately, I did not keep the site-to-store receipt as I would like to write the manufacturer with my complaint. 04/15/2010
Very pretty I bought this as a gift for my mom and she loves it and it keeps the squirrels out of the bird seed. 12/08/2010
Ok Product I purchased this feeder because I had a problem with flocks of Blackbirds coming in and empting my feeders. This feeder does keep the Blackbirds out; but it also discourages the smaller birds such as Goldfinches, Pine Siskin, and Chickadees from feeding. I have had the feeder for three weeks and a few birds do venture inside the cage but most cling to the outside and try to pick up seeds that have fallen on the bottom tray. I am going to take a wire cutter and cut out wires in a few places to see if I can make it more accessible to the smaller birds and still keep the larger Blackbirds out. 05/30/2010
