Several minutes and don't rely on the ready light.

No more than a minute and a half and which shortens with each subsequent waffle.

it depends how hot the waffle maker is. if it is closed and heated when you add the batter .... it can take 3-5 minutes. sometimes the light comes on that indicates that they are ready but when you open it you may notice it is not yet crisp enough so you close it for another minute or two. hope this helps! blessings!

I just bought mine 2/14/16 and will be returning it. It took forever to cook. 10 waffles took me over 2 hours! And it does not brown on both sides even with flipping. the waffle came out thick and not even crispy.

I had the same question than looked it up and found out YES! It is a "Belgian" sized waffle maker. :)

It's called a belgium waffle maker, but they are not too big in my opinion.

It is a full-sized waffle-maker. The batter determines if it is Belgian, standard, Buttermilk, whole-grain or other. There is no "standard size for waffles. These are 6 3/'4" x 1".

And here's why: :) If you have a few years on you, you remember when waffle irons were built with the idea in mind that they had to be heavy in weight to be quality. This Oster DuraCeramic Waffle Maker proves this to be completely false! Technologies in manufacturing of products have truly come a long way in not only being brighter ideas but in bringing them to fruition for the modern cooks that count on them in today's kitchen. The non-stick white coating on the cooking surface is safe and that is one of the best features of this maker as well. Another wonderful feature is that baking time is so quick, you won't be in the kitchen until noon just to feed a family of four! I highly recommend, and praise, this waffle maker and I don't know anyone who doesn't love waffles. In fact, to be honest; that is the only problem I would have with it. As soon as "everyone I know" finds out I have it, I will never get out of the kitchen again LOL! Just kidding of course.

Simply the best waffle iron I have ever used!

This is the first waffle maker I've owned so I can't compare it to other models, but I really like it.  It heats up quickly, cooks the waffles quickly, and clean-up is a breeze (with no need to use cooking spray or oil).  I set mine on high and the waffles come out fluffy and golden brown.  I've noticed the texture of the waffle varies with different recipes (I'm not a fan of the Classic Waffles recipe that came with the appliance), but I've found my favorite recipes and store-bought mixes and couldn't be happier.  I usually make several waffles at a time, then freeze them.  When I'm ready to eat one I just pop it in my toaster oven for a few minutes and they taste wonderful!

I didn't really expect the waffle maker to work as well as it did. I used a gluten free recipe and based on past experience with an old waffle maker I threw out, the gluten free mixture likes to stick. I was amazed that neither the first or subsequent waffles stuck and I did not add any oil or spray to the surface at all, nor did I add extra oil to the batter. You can set the desired crispness by turning a dial. A green light comes on when the waffle is done. On the highest setting, I found that if I left it in another 15 seconds after this light appeared the waffle came out very crisp and brown which is how I like my waffles.

Pleasantly surprised

I was unsure about purchasing this waffle maker because I had always used the tradition square waffle maker but I am SO glad that I didn't give in to those fears! Loved everything about this maker! The ceramic coating made the waffle slide out with ease and the Belgian-type design made the waffle thick but light and fluffy. On Christmas I cranked out waffle after waffle and my family enjoyed a waffle bar with many toppings-so much fun that I think it will become a tradition! The only thing I am still getting used to is adding the correct amount of batter but it's worth the experiment to find just the right amount. Plus clean up was super easy! (I did leave it in the maker for an additional minute after the green light came on for my picky children who prefer their waffles on the brown side.)
