if fully thawed-- expect several --hours-- and have a meat thermometer to check internal temps at intervals. it takes longer than a regular oven that controls it&#39;s internal temp better.

high temperature to raise the internal heat of the &#39;&#39;crock-pot&#39;&#39; style roaster-- and expect several hours to do a turkey-- even much longer if filled with dressing / stuffing. look in and definately use a meat thermometer to test the inside temp of turkey.--this is not a quick cook device-- but you can get a big juicy bird if you are--very-- patient. i did one in 6 hours that was excellent- falling off the bone- and melt in your mouth tender-- just like a small crock pot can do with a small chicken or Cornish game hens with several hours to --slow-- roast

how long would it take to cook a 24lb turkey and what temperture

yes I does......and easyto clean..a bit of oven cleaner and wipes clean......the only thing this model unlike my original I bought a few yrs ago does not have a light to let u know its on...but u can feel it heating up

it appears to be enamel paint over metal ---wash-- don&#39;t scour with abrasves.

Teflon type interior and enamel painted exterior over metal [aluminum?]-- wash with care to avoid scratching- don&#39;t immerse base unit in water

Could you tell me what material the lid is? Is this enamel over steel?

I bought this roaster on sale at Christmas. I've never had any issues with it. I've put 2 Boston butt pork roast and they cooked perfect. seasoned them

I bought this brand/size about 5 yrs ago right before Thanksgiving.  Admittedly, I have only used it for turkeys and chickens, but I followed the instructions that came with it and had perfect results.  I was surprised by how fast and thoroughly the turkeys roasted.   And I did cook a few right at 20 lbs.  I passed the roaster on to a friend when my family grew smaller.  She loved it too.  I never had any problems.  As stated in anothe review, it is not fun to clean up, but what roaster is?  I'm thinking about buying another one.   Happy Holidays!

I picked this out as a Christmas present for myself from my family. One of the reasons I did is because of the capacity size. I have one of those old fashioned roasting pans and I have a hard time cooking certain items and closing the lid. Plus bending over so much isn't good for my knees and back when it comes time to baste or even just to check on the foods progress. 

The roasting oven is not the easiest to clean. You have to take the whole roasting oven to the sink to clean. 

I used it to make pasta and sauce for a large group of people and sadly within the first 5 minutes of having it on 150 degrees I had to shut it off because the oven was burning the sauce. 

A friend of mine was having the same issue. She precooked a Turkey and put gravy in the oven and with the turkey and hers also started burning. I'm not sure if the temperature is correct on the oven but I'm very disappointed with this purchase and sadly I probably cannot even return it because its been used already. I should've went with the mainstay version of this roaster. 

Overall I would not recommend this item because its harder to clean and it burns the liquid inside easily which leaves some concern to actually leave it unattended for several hours to actually use to cook.
