I can't comment on durability as I have only had this pan about 10 days and have used it twice. I was very pleased both times. It is much nicer than the teflon coating which I hate and it never lasts. I was careful not to overheat this pan and it doesn't need a lot of heat. Eggs slide right off and it is very easy to clean. Be sure to let it cool before cleaning.

I bought this skillet to use in our camper. The nonstick finish on our last electric skillet chipped off donor was unusable. The ceramic finish on this skillet is what made me purchase it. It is great! We used it to make breakfasts and dinners. Nothing stuck to it, and it is a great size for a family (I cooked for 6 people).

    • Of course not. You should never use any metal on a treated cooking surface. I thought everyone knew that.

    • I flipped completely through the manual. Believe it or not, this was not mentioned within the instructions, nor is it anywhere on the box. I would say "no", just to be on the safe side. Even if it doesn't peel, you could leave microscopic scratches, which could hold on to food and stain. It does state not to scour while cleaning, but to use mild detergent and soft cloth. For stains it recommends soft sponge with baking soda.

    • Yes, at least in my experience. I only use metal utensils, I don't care what the warnings say. So far no scratches and no sticking!

    • I wouldn't think of immersing an electric appliance in water, even if you could. Seems like it'd reduce the life of the appliance, but that's just me. To clean the outside, I just use a soapy wash rag or some 409.

    • Yes to both questions. However, I wouldn't waste your money. The food will start burning and sticking over the heating element after a couple of weeks.

    • you wont have to immerse it in the dishwater, it's easy clean up... it's an electric skillet so I would NOT use it for baking....

    • Only the lid can. The skillet itself cant. I first wipe it out with a few paper towels and then put some sudsy water into the skillet alone and then proceed in washing it out. I havent yet tried the skillet out for baking
