Good enough for a storm chaser! I'm a storm chaser from tornado alley. This product works great for me, the rechargeable batteries last 60+ hours, plus there is a backup (just in case you cant charge your battery pack) it takes normal batteries too. It has a pretty good signal everywhere I travel and automatically changes channels to the closest transmitter. Has text watch/warning/advisory display along with audio. I recommend everyone to own one, it is a life saver for the average person and a great tool for a storm chaser! 08/17/2009
IT WORKS! This is a very good radio. It works very well. There was a tornado that hit in our area and the radio went off ten minutes before the tv did. My radio is set to siren (this radio has an ajustible volume control) and it automatically turns the local NOAA channel so I know what is going on. This radio will warn you about alot of thing such as evacuations for your area, hurricanes, tornados, water contaminations, and many many more! Overall I am very impressed with how easy it is to use and set up. Because it runs on rechargeable batteries it is perfect to use, along with the fact that is is portable. The radio also has a travel mode that when set it will pinpoint where you are ,and it will tell you what is going on around the area. As well as telling you the forcast, tide levels, and what you need to do if say a tornado hits around you. I would recommend this product to any one to have around the house or on vacations to keep you aware of the weather around you. 07/27/2009

Great little radio This is one product I am glad I have not had much opportunity to use. The few times I have had to use it it has worked as expected. Read your instructions for setting the assorted features. I found the buttons to be a little bit less than intuitive. The manual is also available from Oregon Scientific's website as a download if you happen to misplace your copy. One great feature is that the codes for your state and county are already in the radio. You just have to set them into the SAME memory, and the instructions tell you how. When it is in it's charging cradle, make sure the light comes on. I had set mine in and the strap got in the way. Instead of charging, the batteries ran down. It will run on regular batteries as well as the pack that comes with it. I am glad I purchased this little radio and look forward to having it when it's needed. It's the second Oregon Scientific radio I have owned and I will buy from them again when the need arises. 07/03/2010
