Recently my older Oral-B died and I had to replace it. Fortunately when looking on the WalMart website I came across a great deal on an Oral-b rechargeable toothbrush. To top it off there was a 50% rebate. I got a great product and thanks to Walmart I got a great deal. Way to go Walmart!

I would highly recommend this product if the manufactures would correct only one; but yet one, major issue. I bought the product for my physically challenged sister. The focus being on ease of operation. It was all I had hoped and a big improvement over the competitors model which she had used for the past year. Her teeth are visibly cleaner and the small head and shaft allow her to keep it in her mouth until she can turn it off. The metal off/on button was an improvement over the rubberized button on the last model. My one and only disappointment is that there is no cover for the toothbrush head as it rest in the charger, or at least we did not get one in our package. Other toothbrushes come with a cover and some even with a travel container and cover. This is a major flaw, who wants an uncovered toothbrush head in the bathroom with all we know about airborne viruses in 2008. This leaves me somewhat unhappy and without a permanent solution as of this date.

I ordered this item and received very quick delivery even during the Holidays. There was a $15 rebate advertised. When I tried to collect the rebate I found it had expired before I ordered my toothbrush, even though it was still advertised with the item. I notice it is still being advertised on the product rating request. That is not good business in my opinion.

When I decided to buy an electric toothbrush, I began looking at the reviews and of course came across the ones that offered alot of bells and whistles. Then I came across thousands of reviews for this product( Oral-B precision1000 ) True it's an older model and true it does not have many of the bells and whistles, but if your looking for a good electric toothbrush with good scrubbing power, then look no further. For the money, I think this is all aperson really needs. The only thing I did not like is the cost of replacement brushes. They can run $18/3pack. My next project is finding them cheaper

This is a basic electric toothbrush, which is just what I wanted. If you want more bells and whistles, look at other more expensive models. This model, however, seems to do it all. I like the simplicity of this brush and it accomodates other types of brush heads, i.e., floss action, sensitive, etc. The brush is very easy to use, though it may take a few days to get get used to it. Remember, this brush does the work for you! No need to move it back and forth. The small round head is cup-shaped so it covers each surface of the tooth very well. The motor will skip a little to let you know it's time to move on to another section of your mouth. The instructions are very clear on how to use the brush. Be sure not to use too much pressure! Simply move the brush head from tooth to tooth and let it do its work. For the first few days, your gums may be a little tender and you may notice some slight bleeding, but this is normal. In no time, you'll actually enjoy the sensation of the brush. And the feeling when you're done? Like you just walked out of the dentist's office!

    • A. Yes, of course. That's why I liked my old Braun with the 3 brush holder/charger. I use the soft brush in the morning and the floss brush and the brush style it came with in the evening.. The brush, you may notice, comes with different colored rings which you place over the bottom of the brush handle where you push it into the metal stick on the top of the base..choose one color for you and another color for your husband to keep them straight.

My last oral b hits my teeth so hard, I don't use it. Had had them for years before and they were smooth, no hitting. Now I'm afrait to buy another.

    • A. Hi Bill. This brush should not knock against your teeth at all. I recommend using it with the Sensitive Brush Head. This brush head provides a gentle brushing experience and is ideal for sensitive teeth and gums. It has extra-soft bristles that are gentle on teeth and gums. I would recommend checking with your dentist to for recommendations as well. Thanks, Ryan

    • A. Not at all -- it's completely smooth. I'm not sure what you mean by 'hits my teeth so hard'. I wouldn't describe any part of the brushing hitting my teeth hard. I love it--it's easier, faster and much cleaner than you can ever do manually. I wouldn't brush any other way. They tripled the price, but it's still worth it--you can't beat the quality & durability of Oral-B. (Don't be tempted to buy a cheap off-brand.) If the brush was too hard, you can buy sensitive brush heads, which are softer. I would try it again. If you still don't like it, you can always return it.

    • A. This one is gentle. There are actually 3 settings. I use the default setting but there is one for sensitive teeth and one for whitening also. But the default setting does not knock against my teeth. My wife hasn't complained, either. If you're not using Oral B branded replacement heads, that may be the reason for the rough treatment of your teeth. But I believe you just got a bad one.

    • A. This model is fine.. the Vitality model was rough according to my husband..now, make sure you don't press it too hard into your teeth..my husband does this and he uses up brush heads very fast. I'm hoping he learns to just GLIDE the brush GENTLY over the teeth.. not press the brush into the teeth like you do with a manual brush.
