Onkyo AVX-280 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver/Speaker Package 4.6 5 181 200
Excellent Value Home Theatre I got this package on 15th sept 2010This is a very good quality and good value home theater. I was very skeptical about buying this one as i could not find any reviews or specs about this receiver in any web sites. I just thought of buying it anyway. It exceeded my expectations. For all of you who are skeptical about buying this one let me clarify your doubts. The only difference that i could find between this home theater system and the HTS3300 is the below settings which are absent in the AVX280 recieverAudyssey EQ*6 to Correct Room Acoustic Problems• Audyssey Dynamic EQ*6 for Loudness Correction• Audyssey Dynamic Volume*6 to Maintain Optimal ListeningLevel and Dynamic RangeAll the rest of the specs / features functions and the speaker specifications and model are the same between the 2.I recommend this one. It costed me 265$ with the tax and is a very good value for money.Hope you find it helpfulThanks 09/18/2010
You won't be dissapointed!!! Recently I purchased the Sony DAV-DZ175 for $198 and it wasn't what I expected. So I was on the hunt for another system and I came across this one at Wal-Mart. I GOOGLED the model number and could not find this anywhere else but Wal-Mart. I wanted to to research this product more b4 I made the purchase, so I called ONKYO myself to get some information about this system. They told me two things....this item is ONLY made for Wal-Mart, and this model is VERY SIMILAR to their Onkyo TX-SR308. So I researched the 308 on Amazon.com and the reviews were great! Well I haven't been dissapointed. The only way to go with a surround sound system is to start with a receiver. 3 HDMI inputs in the back are soooo great. I plugged in my Direct TV receiver, Blu-ray, and XBOX 360, all with HDMI cables and then run ONE single HDMI cable out to the TV. No need for optical/coaxial digital cables anymore. HDMI cables send digital audio as well as video. This receiver also supports 1080p video. This system is 600 watts as opposed to the SONY i had b4 that said it was 1000 watts. Don't be fooled! The Onkyo blows the Sony out of the water. The sound is soooo much better! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE!! DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS!!! 09/18/2010
Excellent! By far the best under $700 system that I've ever heard. I decided on this unit after listening to similar systems at sears and best buy, and reading all of the favorable reviews, and I was NOT disappointed. This beast easily fills my smaller den/gaming area with rich sound and deep bass, and the setup couldn't have been any easier. The system is advertised as having 600 total watts, but is way louder and cripser then my old Samsung 1000 Watt setup. This is the perfect setup someone looking for great performance without breaking the bank. I highly recommend it.PROS:Excellent SoundCheap PriceARC and 3D readyHDMI inputsCONS:None yet 10/15/2010
Way better than expected I was hoping for the best, but expecting the worst when I purchased this product. I was leery about purchasing a 600 watt system, when I already had a 1000 watt system that I really wasn't happy with, but decided to trust the reviews. I figured if I wasn't satisfied, I could always return it. Was I surprised and totally satisfied! The sound is awesome. My Sharp Aquos tv and dvd player are both plugged into the receiver, as is the dvr cable box - all with HDMI cables. I've played several of my favorite dvds and have heard audio -- dialogue and background -- that I have either never heard before or never heard clearly. Blu-ray dvds are fantastic! The system was super easy to set up; everything was clearly marked and all speaker wires were color coded. I had everything unpacked, set up, working and in the cabinet in less than 30 minutes. For the price, you can't do better than this system. 11/15/2010
