Very easy to use I always have one on hand. Because its comes in handy when my pets aren't feeling good. I have three dogs and one cat, and have never had a problem getting them to eat this. They actually wait for more. very good when they have an upset stomach, and don't want to eat much. I highly recommend it. 02/18/2009
Why did they change it? I have been buying this product, now produced by two companies in the same city and sold by the same name, for over 30 years. For many years, it consisted of a homogenious paste and I swore by it. For some reason, in the last several years, both companies, first one and then both, have changed the formulation. I do not know if the formula has changed, but the paste is no longer homogenious. The oil of which the product is partially composed now separates from the rest.Tubes of the product are meant to be stored upside down, with reason. Storing the tube upside down causes the separated oil to rise to the bottom of the tube. Since one squeezes the product from the top of the tube, this puts off the awful squirts of oil until the end. Just be prepared and squeeze the tube gingerly as you near the end. Hold it over something absorbant like a wad of paper towels as you open the tube and invert it, as the oil will drain out by itself even before the tube is squeezed. As you squeeze it, the oil comes out in sudden squirts. Although this oil is colorless, it can stain clothing and bedding.Too, the remaining paste is no longer of the same consistency throughout. At the top of the tube, for the first several times you use it, the product is entirely syrup. If you feed it to your pet on your finger (as I do), it begins to drip off immediately, just as any syrup would. You must be quick: no waiting here for the pet to lick it off ... get it in his mouth as fast as you can. The paste in the MIDDLE of the tube is very tasty to pets: most will lick it off your finger.The product would be perfect if composed still of the same paste-like consistency throughout. Can save a dogs life I have used this product two different times in nursing puppies through parvo, it worked. I now live in a country area and I had a puppy get parvo and I couldn't find this product anywhere, so I had to order it online. The puppy died. Having this product can save a dogs life. I would recommend this product always be on hand if you have an animal. 02/18/2009
O.K PRODUCT I PURCHASED NUTRI-CAL TO AID IN MY DOGS WEIGHT GAIN . HOWEVER THE SUPPLEMENT DID NOT. BUT I DID NOTICE A RAISE IN HIS ENERGY LEVEL. MY DOG LOVED THE TASTE, NO NEED TO HIDE IT IN PEANUTBUTTER. NUTRI-CAL WOULD BE GREAT FOR OLDER DOGS THAT NEED AN ENERGY BOOST. I DISCONTINUED USE. 10/28/2007
