Book Information

The following content was provided by the publisher.
#1 bestselling author Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels are: "irresistible" ("Houston Chronicle"), "stunning" ("Booklist"), "outrageous" ("Publishers Weekly"), "brilliantly evocative" ("The Denver Post"), and "making trouble and winning hearts" ("USA Today").
New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is certain of three truths: People don't just vanish into thin air. Never anger old people. And don't do what Tiki tells you to do.
After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track him down. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape . . . or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive. Since the hospital staff's lips seem to be tighter than the security, and it's hard for Stephanie to blend in to assisted living, Stephanie's Grandma Mazur goes in undercover. But when a second felon goes missing from the same hospital, Stephanie is forced into working side by side with Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, in order to crack the case.
The real problem is, no Cubbin also means no way to pay the rent. Desperate for money--or maybe just desperate--Stephanie accepts a secondary job guarding her secretive and mouthwatering mentor Ranger from a deadly Special Forces adversary. While Stephanie is notorious for finding trouble, she may have found a little more than she bargained for this time around. Then again--a little food poisoning, some threatening notes, and a bridesmaid's dress with an excess of taffeta never killed anyone . . . or did they? If Stephanie Plum wants to bring in a paycheck, she'll have to remember: No guts, no glory.

Book description

#1 bestselling author Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels are: "irresistible" ( Houston Chronicle), "stunning" ( Booklist), "outrageous" ( Publishers Weekly), "brilliantly evocative" ( The Denver Post), and "making trouble and winning hearts" ( USA Today).

Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape... or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

Then again--a little food poisoning, some threatening notes, and a bridesmaid's dress with an excess of taffeta never killed anyone... or did they? If Stephanie Plum wants to bring in a paycheck, she'll have to remember: No guts, no glory.

BONUS: This edition contains an excerpt from Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg's The Heist.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5★ by 16reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Janet should keep writting this series! I love this one as much as I've loved all the previous Plum Series. This book is excellent for a laugh, or twelve. I own all 19, plus the in betweens, and I already can't wait for book 20!There are some interesting Ranger (he's very hot) moments, a great way to visualize Tank, Lula is just as crazy, Joe is Joe, and of course, Stephanie has a few, let's just say, insane, issues. Oh, and Grandma is helpful in this one.If you love the Plum Series, this book will not disappoint. Enjoy! 01/10/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by I really loved the first books in this series and couldn't put them down. I laughed so hard that it was hard to breath. Great fun. However this book didn't come close to the first in the series. It barely made me smile, in spots. Not a book for me to keep, so it was donated to the local library. 02/08/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Evanovich excells again! As always, Janet Evanovich thrills with constant crazy action peppered with misadventures and romance. 12/05/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by I love all of Janet's "Stephanie Plum" books. Hope she continues with more books on the adventures of Stephanie Plum . I don't think I've ever laughed as much or as hard since I discovered Stephanie Plum. I've read almost all of Janet's Plum books, I have read a couple of her other books too, but I keep coming back to the Plum books. Keep up with the great sense of Humor. Sincerely One of your best fans, Laurindasmom.. 01/01/2013
