Nostalgia Electrics Retro Series Refrigerator 7 7
Won't cool properly :( As they say... looks aren't everything. I bought this refrigerator because of it's retro looks which fits in with my older home. Packaging and delivery was perfect, as was the customer service pickup at Walmart. The refrigerator looks great and it's features are well thought out as well. However, it does seem to have a fatal flaw... The thermostat seems to only work for the freezer part on the fridge. When setting it up the first day I set the thermostat to position 4 which the manual recommends. This setting will give you 40 degrees in the lower (non freezer) portion. After a few weeks the temperature gradually rose up in to the 50 degree range and my food started to spoil. I turned the thermostat down (set on 5) and ALL it did was cause the freezer to drop to 5 degrees!! It has NO effect on the refrigerator lower section which stayed at 50 degrees. I thought it might be a fluke so I have been fiddling with the thermostat for weeks trying to get the thing to cool 40 degrees. No change. The thermostat knob does nothing but send your freezer into the single digits. I love the refrigerator and don't want to take it back, but will have to since it has ruined all the food I have put in it :( 03/19/2012

The fridge is amazing. it looks like the picture and having the separate freezer really works out. the light inside the fridge part is extremely helpful. like the other reviews, when i got it home and opened it, there were various dents around the edges. the box showed no signs of damage, and it was well protected during shipping, so the damage had to occur before it was boxed. the shipping to the store was faster than expected and easy to do. 05/22/2012
