a little of both I think it depends on the amount of ice.

It's a good stream of ice for a while but after it is used for a couple of minutes it starts to clog up and spits out large chunks of shavings.

little pieces come out in a stream but it does sometimes gather together and "splurt" out in one big chunk.

it streams out ...just keep cup under it to catch the ice...keep towel under it to catch unused ice that melts..otherwise it is great....

It makes a fairly constant stream so long as there is a new batch of ice in the chamber. When the ice cubes get small though it starts to sputter. By then I just add more cubes.

it is pretty constant as long as the ice is at the bottom. you may need to stop once and push it down again.

It appears that if there isn't anything (cup pressed against it) to inhibit the snow from shooting out of the machine that it would be a continuous flow.

Once you turn the lid counterclockwise you activate the shaving process. If you reverse the lid, the snow stops streaming. In a sense this becomes your on and off control.

It fills my needs perfectly, but the graininess of the ice is about twice that you would find in a traditional snowball.

It's not really light and fluffy. It's not chunky either, but crunchy. If you want fluffy shaved ice, look for a hand crank machine that uses disc-shaped molds for freezing the water in.

I would say it's more of a snow consistency. You can pack it down to get a more harder texture but I find it easiter for the kids to eat it when it's light and fluffy.

It's in between the two I feel, a light load of ice seems to make it chunkier and big load softer.

yes, it swivals out by plastic ears in a T hole.

You cannot remove it but it can be folded under.

it should be a plastic holder. if it is follow the holder to the base of the machine & pull the holder out at that point. the holder is in the base with a tip on either side of the holder. it is very easy to do. also when you buy the machine the holder is under the machine anyway

yes, it can easily be removed, and even stored underneath.

Got this as a gift for my daughter. We have used it three times already. It is It does exactly what it says. I just wish it would've come with some flavors.Overall we are very happy with it. I would definitely recommend this item.

Ok so not a bad price, a little ugly I wish they had plain white or black but anyway...it's ok but the plastic part that is supposed to hold the snow cone is really loose so you can't set the cone down and leave it or it will spill over. I just put a cup under it and voila!

Well...

OMG it was so much fun for my 6 years old birthday party. Kids of all ages absolutely loved it. They had snow cones again and again, trying different flavors and just enjoying crushing ice. It was a hit activity.

great shaved ice. I also have the larger sno cone machine and bought this one for my office because i am addicted to shaved ice. Love it. I do like the texture of the ice from the larger one better (more crunchy, less powdery) I would reccommend and I would buy again.
