Rated 4 out of 5 by Hermit58 Apparent side vents are merely decoration. The only vent is a small barely 2 inch circle in the top center of the lid. Be very careful removing the lid when it's hot! The stock photos were good, but made me think that there are tiny little vertical vents all around the top outer rim. Those are not holes - they are just decorations. Lastly, I wish the cover was maybe an inch or two wider in diameter. I had a very hard time finding one I thought was large enough to fully go over our dinner plates, but it doesn't. Rated 5 out of 5 by CountryGirl2012 Save paper towels and use this! We no longer use up paper towels to cover food in the microwave. We use this handy Nordicware plate and bowl cover. It fits over anything. The vented top let out excess steam. The high quality plastic is durable and washes up easily. Best of all, we don't fill the trash can with paper towels now. What did we ever do without it? I would recommend this plate cover to everyone who uses a microwave. It is affordable and does a good job. 08/29/2012
