For the first time anywhere, the first-person account of the planning and execution of the Bin Laden raid from a Navy Seal who confronted the terrorist mastermind and witnessed his final moment
From the streets of Iraq to the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips in the Indian Ocean, and from the mountaintops of Afghanistan to the third floor of Osama Bin Laden's compound, operator Mark Owen of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group -- commonly known as SEAL Team Six -- has been a part of some of the most memorable special operations in history, as well as countless missions that never made headlines.
"
No Easy Day" puts readers alongside Owen and the other handpicked members of the twenty-four-man team as they train for the biggest mission of their lives. The blow-by-blow narrative of the assault, beginning with the helicopter crash that could have ended Owen's life straight through to the radio call confirming Bin Laden's death, is an essential piece of modern history.
In N"o Easy Day," Owen also takes readers onto the field of battle in America's ongoing War on Terror and details the selection and training process for one of the most elite units in the military. Owen's story draws on his youth in Alaska and describes the SEALs' quest to challenge themselves at the highest levels of physical and mental endurance. With boots-on-the-ground detail, Owen describes numerous previously unreported missions that illustrate the life and work of a SEAL and the evolution of the team after the events of September 11. In telling the true story of the SEALs whose talents, skills, experiences, and exceptional sacrifices led to one of the greatest victories in the War on Terror, Mark Owen honors the men who risk everything for our country, and he leaves readers with a deep understanding of the warriors who keep America safe.

Book description

For the first time anywhere, the first-person account of the planning and execution of the Bin Laden raid from a Navy Seal who confronted the terrorist mastermind and witnessed his final moment

From the streets of Iraq to the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips in the Indian Ocean, and from the mountaintops of Afghanistan to the third floor of Osama Bin Laden’s compound, operator Mark Owen of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group — commonly known as SEAL Team Six — has been a part of some of the most memorable special operations in history, as well as countless missions that never made headlines.

No Easy Day puts readers alongside Owen and the other handpicked members of the twenty-four-man team as they train for the biggest mission of their lives. The blow-by-blow narrative of the assault, beginning with the helicopter crash that could have ended Owen’s life straight through to the radio call confirming Bin Laden’s death, is an essential piece of modern history.

In N o Easy Day, Owen also takes readers onto the field of battle in America’s ongoing War on Terror and details the selection and training process for one of the most elite units in the military. Owen’s story draws on his youth in Alaska and describes the SEALs’ quest to challenge themselves at the highest levels of physical and mental endurance. With boots-on-the-ground detail, Owen describes numerous previously unreported missions that illustrate the life and work of a SEAL and the evolution of the team after the events of September 11. Rated 4 out of 5 Bought book as a gift for my borther-in-law. He seemed interested in it immediately. It was a good price for being a hard-back book, and I shopped around the prices. 01/30/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by One of the Best One of those books that you don't want to put down once you pick it up. 09/25/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by amazing narrative on the mission for Bin Laden No Easy Day by Mark Owen (not his real name for his and families protection) and Kevin Maurer have written an amazing book. The book gives you an inside look at the world of the Navy Seals. These warriors train and fight on the cutting edge of our military forces. The book not only describes the assault that took down Bin Laden but also other missions as well in Iraq and Afghanistan. The book does an incredible job at showing you theblow-by-blow narrative of the assault that killed Bin Laden, beginning with the helicopter crash straight through to the radio call confirming Bin Laden’s death. The detail is simply unprecedented, their are even maps of the compound where Bin Laden lived. I cannot speak high enough for this book and the warrior that live this life so we can stay safe.Thank you for reading my review. 04/11/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★ by I haven't finished the book yet but it arrived quickly. The book was nicely wrapped and protected for shipping. Which is hard to judge since it's a book and not something breakable. I purchased the book here because it was a brand new book and it was priced lower than any other bookstore.I order a lot from Walmart and I've never had a problem whatsoever. I would recommend them without reservation. 09/21/2012

Rated 5 out of 5★ by I truely enjoyed this book, No Easy Day. Couldn't put it down after I started reading. Without giving away any secrets, it puts an ordinary person in the shoes of a SEAL. The book also shows how much the truth gets turned around by the government. 10/03/2012
