  • Players are in control of two separate storylines. One features Bowser and his efforts to stop an arch-villain from taking over his castle. Meanwhile, inside Bowser, the microbe-sized Mario & Luigi must muscle their way through challenges and keep their nerve if they want to find a way out. They take action to control Bowser from the inside but without his knowledge.
  • Players can switch between storylines at will. What happens inside Bowser affects what hes doing on the outside. Sometimes Mario & Luigi must solve puzzles and challenges behind the scenes to help Bowser overcome various obstacles and advance the plot.
  • Players must make well-timed button presses to enhance their performance during battles and challenges. In some battles, Bowser grows so large that players must turn their Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi system sideways, blow into the microphone or tap on the touch screen with the stylus to keep up with the action.
  • The game features the same hilarious dialogue that has been the hallmark of the Mario & Luigi series.
  • ESRB Rating: EVERYONE with Comic Mischief and Mild Cartoon Violence

This game is very fun and was a lot better than I expected. Though the premise would seem kind of dumb, it was actually well thought out and turns out to be very addicting. The games only drawback is the heavy dialogue. I finally just started to rapidly hit buttons to fast forward through most of the conversations. The conversations have key information in them, but not worth reading 3 or 4 minutes of dialogue every 5 to 10 minutes of play.

Mario and Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story is probably one of my favorite games on the Nintendo DS. This game is great because it takes awhile to accomplish the whole game, it is entertaining, and my favorite part about this game is the color and the graphics. A must-buy for any teenager.

  • A. I got it for my boys ages 4 and 6, and they do fine with it. There is a ton of reading that is really annoying, but as long as you can read the important things to them they do really well. They both really like it.

  • A. Its a story.. and its a lot of stopping and reading and what to do next. My son is 4.. it definitely wasnt on his level. Might work better for an 8 year old.

  • A. We have a 7 year old son who loves this game. We do have to occasionally read something to him from the game, but other than that, he is usually capable of figuring out what to do on his own.
