LOVE THIS BLENDER

I was weary when my husband brought home this blender, was worried it wouldn't be that great cuz it wasn't very expensive, but this blender is amazing! I use it twice a day...sometimes to make 3-4 smoothies in a day and the blades on this blender just slice the ice and frozen fruit like butter! It's so fast and my smoothies and shakes are done in about a minute to 90 seconds! Sometimes the pulse is inconvenient because I'd rather be putting my ingredients away while it's blending, but it doesn't bother me because it's just that fast. This blender is also easy to clean, but be careful while cleaning because I have cut my finger on the blades, they are SHARP! I highly recommend this blender! Great and the price is great too!

This blender is amazing! I love making fruit and yogurt smoothies and this Ninja makes perfectly smooth smoothies from frozen fruit in about 90seconds. Delicious and healthy. I have also used it to do other things, like salsa and hummus, and it works very well. But I am most amazed with how well it works with frozen fruit compared to other blenders I have used. Only Con is that you have to hold the lid down to blend, but again it usually only takes 90seconds or less, so not that big of a deal I do not think. Highly recommend.

Pros & Cons

I bought this model at Wal-Mart. Here's what I find to be the pros & cons: Pros: It looks nice, no buttons to clean. It has THREE blades on the shaft!! This is awesome!! -A neat idea! I love the pitcher. It goes on smoothly & securely & easily. You don't have to worry about it falling over in the fridge. -Nice design. The handle is sturdy & comfy also. -Easy to clean, mostly. It does have some grooves, but could be worse. Cons: After awhile, it gets really old HAVING to stay there and hold it down the WHOLE time.. which is about 60-90 seconds. I like being able to multi-task in the kitchen. The pulse "button" that you hold down on the lid.... is likely to have problems. Say you blend, then you put the lid on the counter, and you put it spout side up.. then wet gooey mess leaks all over the notch that will fit back into the button to make it turn on again, once you return it to the pitcher to re-blend... that gooey wet stuff will get stuck inside the button, and I'm just guessing will cause problems w/ it working eventually. -So bad design there... you gotta make sure no water or gooey leaks into there. You gotta make sure that when you set the lid down that you do so, w/ the spout face-DOWN to avoid this problem. Water is getting stuck IN-side the handle of the pitcher... no way to get it out... eventually may mildew, possibly. Overall blending experience: Blends frozen stuff real nicely. It's way smoother than my $20 funky blender that I ditched, so I like that. But I'm really interested in a Vitamix or Blendtec, 'cause I want to do some very nutritional smoothies, that are really broken down to small particles... and SMOOTH... I want to be able to put raw carrot & apple in there, and it be smooth... not so the case w/ the Ninja.. I tested it... it's chunky. BUT.... if you JUST want the blender for basic stuff.... it blends really nicely & very smooth.... just keep in mind the cons & whether you're okay w/ that.

This blender is AMAZING!

This blender is AMAZING! I compared it to others & this one had way more horsepower than others in the same price range, but for less money & more options. #1 it purees immediately! I was making chili and this pureed the onions & the garlic into a sauce, absolutely no chunks!#2 it is FAST! I touched the pulse lid a few times and it was done! #3 this has 6 BLADES! Way more than others in the same price range. They are on a center pole at 3 different levels so it chops things at the top even! The blade assembly (pole) lifts out easily, you just pull it out, no twisting or anything, you can even pull it out and put it back in when the blender is full and continue blending, not need to twist off a base like the older models. #4 Easy to Pour! You take off the lid, take out the blade pole, and you can you can pour and easily use a spatula to get the remainder, no blades in the way, no dips in the bottom to work around; a few tiny ridges going up the sides but easy to work with. #5 Easy to assemble before blending. You simply set it on the base, do a quarter turn and it's on. No tricks. Lid is the same, you set it on and it's on, no tricks there either! I highly recommend this blender!! A++++

My 10-year-old son love to make smoothies and our previous blenders failed to properly crush ice or blend frozen fruit. I must say the very first time we used the Ninja I was very impressed and my son jumped up and down with excitement and happy with the outcome of his smoothies. This blender is very fast and the three blades are extremely sharp. The downside is there's no opening to add food or liquid while blending. There's only a poor spout with a lid. So you would need to stop and remove the lid to add food or liquid. I'm not one to leave reviews but I definitely had to give my opinion on this great blender. You will not be disappointed.

I am very picky and careful about what I buy, but a side by side comparison with another (4 star) major brand blender left no doubts. This Ninja not only blows the other blender away, it blew me away. No more fooling around with tilting, shaking, or banging the blender to get a simple drink mixed. Now its almost as easy to make a protein shake as it is to pop a can. Cheers!

Found this at my local Walmart for $24.00, the condition of the box made me worried to purchase it because the box looked like it was opened/ripped but this blender is great! I originally purchased a GE single serve blender for $19.99 and it was a 17 piece set so I had to choose between that or the Ninja...I got the GE cause i figured more bang for my buck but I was so wrong! I ended up returning it and buying this one instead, the GE couldn't even crush ice and the Ninja crushes ice so fast and it's not that loud! Only thing that worries me is how you use the blender, cause if the part that makes the blender work breaks i think you are out of luck....but will be extra careful with it, but so far i'm loving it! great buy!

I was looking for something that would blend ice. I've burnt up so many because they just can't handle it. This one eats ice for breakfast! Some reviewers didn't think it would stay clean in all of the parts. It's totally dishwasher safe except for the motor base. Clean up is very easy! Would recommend!

I'm fairly new to the smoothie scene, so didn't want to spend tons of $ if I don't end up continuing with this "fad" ;-) This blender has so far been just right in price and quality. Easy, strong blending of ice and so far anything I put in. Haven't yet tried greens, though. One thing would prefer it have is an easy opening on top to add ingredients without having to open the whole lid. The spout is not sufficient, unless adding small amount of liquid. All in all I like it and hope it lasts a long time!

Over all I am pretty satisfied with this blender. However I think I thought I was getting the original blender I saw advertised on a info mercial. I think this one is smaller. It grinds up my fresh veggies and fruits for smoothies pretty well, but they are a little gritty. The Ice cream and sorbet need freezing after mixed because it is either liquid or too soft. It tastes good though and I like that I am putting in my own ingredients. It did make snow perfectly though and will be great this summer for frozen drinks.

  • A. It's a pulse button and it is in the lid and handle area. There are no speeds. You push down on the back portion of the lid and it activates the motor through the top of the handle. It's actually very nice!
