Designed exclusively for use with Nikon's DX series digital SLR cameras, the Nikon Nikkor AF-S zoom lens is ideal for sports, action, wildlife, travel, and portrait photography. Nikon's Vibration Reduction system enables you to take substantially sharper handheld pictures at slower shutter speeds — as many as 3 stops slower. An Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass element provides high-resolution images while minimizing chromatic aberration, astigmatism and other forms of distortion. Plus, the Nikon VR Image Stabilization DSLR Lens features Silent Wave Motor technology (SWM), which combines fast and precise auto-focusing with super-quiet operation. The Internal Focusing (IF) construction allows the Nikon zoom lens to focus without changing its external size.

If you don't have it, you need to get it. One of the most versatile lenses I have. It's cheap and works great. It's sharp, doesn't have much edge distortion, zooms easily to any exact setting focuses silently, and reasonably fast. 06/20/2010
A "MUST-HAVE" TELEPHOTO LENS This is a great mid-range telephoto lens that delivers very sharp images thanks to the vibration reduction (VR) feature. I take a lot of marine photos of sailboats and lighthouses from boats riding 2-3 foot waves, so a lens with the VR feature is very important for me. I love this lens. It gets the job done without the need of a tripod. The Nikon F bayonet mount facilitates changing lenses quickly, too. It's easy to use. It's a "must-have" lens for anyone with a Nikon camera that accepts F mount lenses. 06/14/2010
