This Nikon was the perfect little camera we needed. It takes clear pics, really nice shots, as good as the picture taker anyway. It is compact and very cute, and I LOVE the blue color. We are not professional photographers, we just needed a nice small, compact camera to be able to take with us, grab and take some quick shots. This is it. I have had a few COOLPIX cameras, have loved them all. Fits pretty much anywhere, nice and light. We like it a lot, fits just what we needed.

This is the 3rd COOLPIX I have had. I use them for proffesional inspection work and they take great pictures. I take about 200 pictures a day and always get good quality shots with very little effort. My first 2 held up well even after being dropped a couple times. I dropped one on a sidewalk and it bent the lens. I wouldn't expect anything to withstand that type of abuse so I keep a spare. Very easy to use, highly recommended for beginners too.

    • Yes. It takes a standard SD memory card. You can also use the SDHC and SDXC cards, which would be better if you want to take the occasion video, too.

    • The S3600 Nikon Camera takes a Security Digital (SD) Memory Card which is not provided. If no SD Card is inserted the images are saved to the camera's Internal Memory

I am having trouble with my (Kodak) camera taking blurry pictures lately. I need one that will take clear pictures even though my hand is not steady.
    by jopete98 6/20/2014
    • Yes, there is shaky hand icon on the camera to use when a person's hand is not steady.

    • No camera can ensure that the picture is not blurry. Some are better at it than others, however. In general, the less expensive cameras (like this one) are not that good at image stability. Some folks have good luck with this camera, while others can't get a good action shot (without blur) no matter what. The cameras with really good image stabilization are typically more expensive and bulkier than the pocket sized point-n-shoot. If money is no object, I highly recommend the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS. It's got a 50x zoom, manual or automatic modes, shoots in RAW for great photo editing (or standard JPG), and you can shoot up to 13fps. You can get it for less than $450 and you won't be disappointed! If funds are a little tight, I would go with the Fuji FinePix S8500. For around $200 you won't get better image stability. It doesn't shoot in RAW, just JPG, but it will shoot in HDR, panorama, and 3D.It's a nice camera for the money. Also, for about $350 the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70 is second only to the Canon mentioned earlier. While the Canon has a slightly better image quality, the Panasonic has a better zoom (60x) and a wider aperature (f2.8) for low-light photos. I hope this helps!

    • Yes it can but it doesn't if you need a picture fast. Its an auto system with 4 choices. It can take clear photos but you need to hold the shutter down wait for an clear image then continue the shot. If you raise your finger a tiny bit the process starts again. Spend the extra few dollars on a camera that can be set manually.

    • The Nikon Coolpix S3600 offers two modes to minimize blur.

    • The COOLPIX S3600 has an excellent autofocus system. If you have press on the shutter before taking a picture - the camera will lock focus and confirm that it has done so via an audible beep. The sharpness of a picture depends upon the lighting conditions. If you are in a lower light situation and your shutter speed is slow - 1/30 of a second or less - it will be hard to hand hold the camera and get a sharp picture. The camera would boost the ISO setting automatically to compensate for this. This increases the chance that all of your pictures will be sharp.
