I was almost scared off by some of the negative reviews, but I'm sooo glad I still got it. Believe me, we just got the bed yesterday via site to store and I was a little worried to put it together, because of the people complaining that it was hard to put together. But it was very easy, I had no problems at all putting it together myself and I'm a small woman. I did not even have to use a power drill or have an extra hand to help me. My son could not even wait for me to finish to get on it. And he fell in love with it the moment he saw the box. This is by far the best and cutest toddler bed for any Spongbob fan. So don't even hesitate in buying this for your little one. It's very sturdy and can handle both of my kids jumping on it. I'm very glad I ignored the negative reviews, and now so is my son.

We bought two of these beds for our boys. The boys LOVE them, ages 2 & 5. My husband and I had to work together to get them assembled. They both have the Cars bed in red at my mother-in-laws, and my Niece has the Disney Princess one they are all hard to get together its just the way the beds are made. You deffinately need to put elbow grease into them. They are very very sturdy and there are no spaces for small limbs to become entraped. We love them.

I enjoyed the finished product but I found a lot of the screws were difficult even WITH a drill. My wife wanted to surprise me and our little boy with it when we came home from the park but she found, even though she is quite capable and handy with tools, that it was a difficult job. Once we worked together on it, it was fine.

Alot of people have complained about the assembly of this bed. Screws not fitting properly and overall having a difficult time putting this bed together. I was pumped about buying this bed but after reading the comments I'm hesitant about buying it. I also looked up the reviews for the same bed "Cars", & they had no mention about being difficult to put together. Could it be maybe that it was just a bad batch of SB beds? I really want to get this bed for my son so I'm just trying to find out why people had a hard time w/the SP bed and not the Cars bed. Thanks

    • A. I didn't get the cars bed but I did get a Dora one like it and it went together just fine. The differnce was the rails and the suports. Spongebob bed has a cloth-like suport for the mattress where the Dora one had metal bars. If the Cars disign is like the Dora I would recomend it. I do not recoment the Spongebob at all.

    • A. The slots used to anchor the fastening hardware to the plastic seem to have been made using some sort of heated punch system that tends to leave behind excess plastic buildup. When the hardware is inserted the excess buildup causes the screws not to line up with the hardware. Also assembly of bed rails to Head and foot board have a very narrow tollerance. Brute force and problem solving skills are required. But if your child loves Spongebob, the price is right and eventually you will have a sturdy little bed they will enjoy.

    • A. Honestly i dont know, i didnt have no trouble putting the bed together at all. The assembly took me between 20 to 30 mins, all you need is a flat head and four way screw driver....

    • A. I read that as well, but honestly when we got it we were prepared for the screws not aligning with the holes-which seemed to be the biggest issue-but we had no problems with that. Had no troubles setting it up at all actually, and I purchased the spongebob toddler bed for my 3 yr old for christmas.

    • A. I think maybe they has a bad batch too or tried to put it together too quickly. If you read the instructions, take your time and don't use the power drill or tighten everything real tight until both sides match up (like you should do with every DIY project) you should have no problem! I do think having 2 people definitely helped though!

    • A. It's not that bad to put together. I found that if I put the screws loose, then tightened them all at the end, it was easier. Once you have it together it is quite sturdy.
