    Great Bed

    Customer review by MidwestMommaOf3

    5.0 stars by MidwestMommaOf3

We bought 2 of these beds for our 2 and 4 year old children. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the beds. The drawers aren't big at all, but are o.k. for underwear, pajamas, socks, etc.. The beds are very sturdy and were really easy to assemble. The first bed took my husband about a 1 1/2 hours to assmble and the second was even quicker. The box is really heavy though- so, make sure you have help carrying it. The board that supports the mattress is very sturdy- I have no worries that it would break. And, all the pieces were in great shape and no missing parts. For the price, I definitely would recommend this bed to anyone.

item arrived on schedule, put drawers together, which were not very deep. Went to put frame together, main part broken in box, two other pieces missing. Called help line - on hold for 10 minutes - left a message, they were to call back within 24 hours - never returned call. Luckily my husband had plywood and made the pieces, then we had to purchase paint. A week later - no phone call!

    Only the liner is lacking...

We have had this bed (purchased from a diff store) for almost 8 yrs now. We love it - it is SO nice to not need a box spring. There are two reasons that I did not give it five stars - one, I think the price needs to come down to around $100 even for this bed - that would make it a decent value. Two, the liner - the part that goes on top of the drawers that your mattress sits on... that part is lacking in quality. It was the first (and only) thing to break on the bed. My husband got a piece of plywood from a home store and cut it to the size needed and simply laid it right over the cheapie liner. Problem solved! The drawers hold quite a bit. We also have the headboard, but are not using it at the moment. However, it is nice to have for extra storage. We use them for various "stuff", but they would work well for underwear or socks. They aren't big/deep enough for a lot of adult clothing storage, but would probably work for children's clothing. Overall, very happy with the bed and love the white. It makes it easy to change the look of the room with bedding only. It is also easy to clean. Really like it.

    • Yes, you can decide what end you want to be what (they are universal) and what side you want the drawers to go on.

    • Both the header and footer of the bed itself with no additions are the same height so they could go either way.

    • I haven't seen an option for a headboard, but you can use either end of the bed as a head or foot of the bed. It just depends on which way you want your drawers to face.

    • Either end can be the head or the foot. I was not the one who put it together though so I am not sure about the headboard piece.

    • Yes and yes. The headboard and the footboard are the same. They are actually flush with the rest of the bed so there is truly not a headboard and footboard.

    • The bed supports a mattress without further support. It has particle board that the mattress sits on so it doesn't fall through.

    • There is a thin board provided for under the mattress. It seems to be adequate. My daughter is 35 pounds but my husband who is 160 has gotten in bed with her to read stories and it has been fine so far.

    • Yes, it has support boards that go under the mattress.

    • We have this bed, and have had it for 7 years now. You do not need a box spring, but I would HIGHLY recommend getting a piece of plywood cut at the lumber yard to fit in the bottom of the bed. It comes with a very thin pressboard-type thing that folds out and sits on top of the drawers like a liner, and the mattress sits on top of that. The bed is sturdy enough, but the "liner" is cheap and cracked fairy quickly. It might last longer for a little child, but we had a heavier person on it. Trust me, the plywood is a GREAT investment, and makes the bed last SO much longer. The drawers are fine, and the rest of the bed structurally fine, but that cheap thing that goes between the drawers and your mattress stinks! We've never had any other problems once we put the plywood in. It is nice to not mess with box springs, and the storage is really handy.
