no it does NOT come with a charger..
it does use the same charger as earlier 3ds models, as well as 2ds, and DSi models.. not the same as the original DS or DS lite model.
if you don&#39;t already have one you can buy one for under $10..especially if you order online or even thru walmarts marketplace.

Bought this to replace a previous 3ds xl and it's great. The face tracking makes 3D way better. Stuff seems to load quickly. I'm impressed. Keep it up Nintendo.

My son absolutely loves this. He hasn't wanted to put it down since he got it. 
The only negative was that it didn't come with a charger but the charger from his old DS fit the new one, so we were ok. 
I think kids for the most part would be really happy to get a 3DS.

Great gift for my 9 year old

The quality of the console itself is good. My son loves it, but Nintendo no longer sells the console with a charger. If you do previously own a charger, you have to buy the charger separately. This major omission is not printed boldly on the outside of the package. The charger is only available from Nintendo. The regular phone charger does not work on this console.

No longer comes with a charger

They need to be more specific that it does not come with a charger and does not work with all the previous models chargers'. Thankfully my nephew had  previous models and their chargers.

The new Nintendo. 3DXL helps with traveling with my kids. The device allows children and adults an easier way to move in between functions. It also allows you the opportunity to focus on multiple images as one with split screen action. It's really made things better on the move from school to just shopping.

My kids enjoys this device. I purchased one for her about two years ago and it was stolen and she has wanted another one ever since. The price is better now and she was able to use all of her previous games.

She brings this thing with her when we to places like a department or grocery store to occupy her time while we shop. She likes it so I like it.

Daughter played her new game and 3 ds xl kept  telling there was an error every 10 to 20 minutes then it would tequest to remove game I tried to return to walmart but unfortunately I purchased on line and you use an outside vendor electrocell I called them and a guy answered just hi in a gloomy voice I had to ask if I was calling electrocell he said yes but slilent I said I want to return an item gave him order number asked if I want to return it  advised yes and exchange cause it doesn't work he was to send an email to return and I asked is there a charge he repeat charge? I asked for his name and he gave me electrocell I asked again he said John I asked for manger he said there is no manager asked for supervisor he said no one there that's why he answered such poor customer service now I want a refund.  I will not purschase again thru Walmart website
