Yes, It will run on batteries, but I plug mine in, so I don't know how long the batteries will last.

This is also a little complicated to run.
So I am returning.

Im sorry to sayI haven't tried a cd yet,however I do get quite a few stations on the radio. Many I didn't expect from quite far away. Altogether a good deal for the price.

I love this radio/cd player. I got it on sale for $30 marked down from $40 and so far there is no static coming from the radio part and the cd works well too. I was even amazed that Walmart delivery followed my instructions as to where to leave my package - at my apartment door - not on the first floor entrance where they usually leave it .

Great little radio/cd Player

l needed a new CD player and did not want to spend a lot. I read the reviews, ordered it, and I'm pleased with the sound and ease of operation. The red one was on sale so I ordered it.

Just what I wanted!

I like this radio/cd player a lot.  I did not want a  big boom box.  This is a smaller version of a boom box.  It comes in a choice of colors.  I got blue and it comes in red as well.  You can use it either with electricity or batteries for moving it around.  I mainly bought it to play my old cd's that we made many years ago.
The picture shows an antenna, but there is  none on the machine.  I have not found that one is necessary in my house.  
The cord on the machine is quite long.  For cd's you can play, fast forward or repeat.  If you shut it off the machine will start again on the track in that some place.
The radio is surprisingly clear, both am and fm.
I like the handle for moving it around.
The price was super!  This is good for adults and children.

Love this radio/CD player

My sister and I both got this CD player %26 Radio. We just love them.
They have it all, everything we wanted and do light and potable and a beautiful Red. If you divide the cost into 12 months then it's way less than one cup of coffee per month. BUY IT!

LOVE IT REALLY

The reason I purchased, this little Emerson unit, was for its portable cd use. While it works great on regular AC power, CD player, does not operate on battery power. After purchasing the 2 year extended warranty, and writing 3 messages, to Wal Mart, snd messages sent to seller, I' ve never been contacted, to arrange  for return, 😟 !!!

Confused Buyer.

My son opened this on Christmas morning. When he took it out of the box the antenna fell off. In trying to reattach it little metal copper pieces fell out of attena and it completely fell into pieces.

Broken on arrival

I wouldn't even give this a 1 star but since it is required I did. We had this for one night and then it stopped playing cds. It's not like we were rough with it. It was sitting on my son's dresser the whole time. What a waste of money and now I have to return it and buy a new one. Definitely not getting one from Walmart again.
