Yes, my tree is a pre-lit tree and it works with this stand.

I ordered this tree stand after Christmas, but it was on sale, so I didn't pay full price for it.  I did make a "turntable" for a set of 3 "pencil" trees that I hang picture ornaments of my children on.  The wooden dowel fits into the stand, and the wooden turntable was screwed to the dowel, and the trees screwed to the top of the wooden turntable.  I wrapped a tree skirt around it, and it turns without wabble, and it looks amazing!  Now, I can display the picture ornaments all around the trees and it turns so all pictures can be viewed.  The speed of turning is appropriate and it is very pretty with the lights on the tree as well.  If I were to use it on my regular tree, it would actually look very nice as well since it turns enough to see all of the ornaments.  For the money, it is worth it, escpecially since other turning tree stands are much, much, more expensive.  (I tried to post a video but not possible, so the pictures don't really show but I just took a couple of photos as it was turning.)
