I have been very happy with this purchase. It does take a while to paint your nails (file, clean, prime, base, color, color, top, clean). However, once they are finished your nails look fantastic. I was worried with so many layers of polish my nails would never dry---but they did dry and as hard as a rock right when they came out of the lamp (which turns off automatically when your nails are finished). My nails have been painted for a week and I have no chips. (However, it does seem like it is going to be a long process to change nail polish--they have to soak in remover for about 15 min.)

I was looking on another web site to buy a regular 36 watt UV lamp and a start up kit and I would have had to pay more then this system. I'm a fan of the LED UVs since there are so many advantages. The 7 watt LED UV lamp included in this kit works well. You can only put 4 fingers in the little lamp, but it takes less time to cure then the regular UV lamps so it isn't a big deal to me. The cost of this system is equal to one or two visits to the salon to have the manicurist do this for me. The quality of the out come seems to be the same so far. I'm so happy with this purchase. It will save me so much $ and I can redo my nails any time I want without having to make an appointment :)

I've been doing gel polish manicures in salons for months (at 20 to 50 bucks a pop), so I figured I would try this set to see if I could save some money and time by not having to go to the salon. I saw an ad for this product after watching Fashion Police on E!, did some online research, and then bought it in my local Walmart store. PROS: 1. This set is easy and it works. I don't think it would have been as easy to figure out if I hadn't watched a professional do a gel polish manicure in a salon beforehand (because there are so many steps that are different from a traditional manicure, like the nail cleaner, the primer, base and top coats, the super thin layer of polish you're supposed to do, wiping the moisture layer off at the end with rubbing alcohol). It might be worth it to check out a youtube video or the Senationail website if you've never done a gel polish manicure before diving into doing your nails with this set. This at-home kit is totally doable, but you have to read and follow the directions. 2. Cheap price. Sephora now has a set that's over 3 times more expensive. It looks like it has a few little extras (like more manicure tools) but other than that it looks pretty much the same. 3. This set works with other brands of gel nail polish, which is a huge plus because there are not many colors under this brand name. Further, my local store was out of almost all of the extra colors. CONS: 1. My manicures with this set do not last as long as when I go to the salon. For instance, my gel polish manicures from salons would last 2 weeks, easy. With this set, I get about a week at most before the polish begins to peel. Now, this could be my fault in just not applying the polish as well l as a professional manicurist -- I don't know but that seems quite possible. Regardless of whether it's my fault or the set's, it's still a draw back compared to getting a salon gel polish manicure. 2. The LED light system only has a minute-long time setting -- there's no 30 second time setting. This means that when you're doing a phase where the cure time is 30 seconds instead of a minute, you have to watch the clock. But for 50 bucks, I can live without having both 30-second and minute settings on the LED light. BOTTOM LINE: Highly recommend, especially if you really like the longer-wearing capabilities of gel polish but don't have the time or money to always get your nails done at the salon.

    • To remove the gel soak nails in acetone, then remove with a cotton pad.

    • They sell a removal kit which has these foil wrappers with a cotton pad attached. You soak the pad/foil with acetone and wrap up your nails for 10/15/20 minutes. Then you scrape off the gel. I mistakenly bought Non-Acetone nail polish remover and am too cheap to go out an buy straight acetone until what I have runs out. With the non-acetone remover I have, it takes a few times of soaking, scraping and buffing. Once off, my nails aren't damaged and look normal.

    • There are quite a few way that this can be done, it really depends on what suits your needs. I will list the ones I know off and you can do your own research or try my suggestions: 1- Sensationail sells a removal kit that comes along with all the tools and instructions you need. 2- Buff the gel top coat off, then get cotton balls and 100% pure acetone, soak the balls in the acetone and put them over your nail, then wrap with tin foil. Wait at least 20 mins. Do not scrape off your mani as it will ruin your nails! Be gentle and have patience. Do not forget to apply cuticle oil daily so that your nails stay healthy and strong.

    • They sale a kit that gets it off in about 15 min. Or you can get some aluminum foil and a cotton ball. Place the cotton ball on your nail after it is soaked in acetone polish remover and wrap it up in aluminum foil. Wait 15 min and unwrap. You can use a cuticle pusher to scrape the (now soft polish) polish off.

    • You can use a nail scraper and scrape up from the bottom once they have grown out some. Usually if I can just get another nail underneath the polish it will peel off easily. Otherwise you can soak your nails in acetone and rub the polish off.

    • First you use a coarse file to roughen the top surface of the polish. Soak in pur Acetone for about 15 minutes. Try rubbing off the polish with the cuticle pusher. If it doesn't rub off, rough the surface again gently so you don't scrape the natural nail. Soak in the acetone again. Continue this process until all the polish is removed.

    • Use the file, buff off the shine soak it in acetone for a couple min(I did 5 just to avoid having to do it a second time) thake the orange stick tha comes in the kit or your own, push down on the color from the top of the nail then peel off.

    • There's basically two ways, the official way and the way I do it. The official way is to soak your nails in acetone for 5-10 minutes and then scrape off the polish (which turns into kind of a goo) with a metal manicure tool. My understanding is that normal nail polish remover won't work -- you need pure acetone, which is pretty vile stuff. Instead of putting fingertips in a bowl of acetone (kind of gross), I've been at fancy salons where they take some gauze or cotton squares cut in smaller rectangles the size of your nails, dip those in acetone, put one square over each nail, and then wrap the nail in aluminum foil for a few minutes. This at least saves your fingertips from being immersed in acetone. My way: Chances are the polish will start to peel at a certain point and you can carefully peel 90 to 100 per cent of it off. This takes time but is easy to do mindlessly at work or watching TV. You then can either use a file or acetone to take off the rest. I haven't seen any place where this method is officially discussed by the product manufacturer, probably because there's a risk of damaging your nail by peeling off an extra layer or something (or perhaps they want to play up how long the product stays on without peeling instead of stressing that it starts to peel), but if you do it carefully I don't think there would be a problem.

    • Nope, just the essentials, such as; gel cleanser, gel base, gel polish, gel primer, lint free wipes and manicure stick. Lamp should last a long, long time.

    • Hello, because of the nature of LED lights, you will never have to replace the lamp, at least in your lifetime. LED's also save a lot more energy compared to the UV. All you have to do is replace the supplies.

    • The 10 manicures - is that the polish, etc in the package is enough to do 10 nails - the LED light should last for months or years. After 10 manicures you will need to purchase more supplies

    • Just the supplies, the LED lamp should last a long time. Also I can get more than 10 manicures out of this set and when out you can replace the base/top coat and color with bigger bottles sold from Walmart stores.
