Rated 5 out of 5★ by BethK6 Well Written, Insightful, Gripping Story This is not for everyone, although I couldn't put it down. Her insights throughout her 9-month ordeal are extraordinary for a 14-year-old. Some of the psychological understandings would have come later on, but she took in and processed everything in great depth for one her age. I found it very inspiring. Her faith and understanding of God were far more advanced than they are for many adults, and her courage and ability to survive the unimaginable were a great example to me. Strong family ties were also a major factor in her survival. Some may find it difficult to re-live this ordeal and relentless exposure to evil with her, and some have been put off by the references to religion and her faith. But those were the things that helped her survive the experience, and the book would have been meaningless without them. It has been a life-changer for me, and she is one amazing human being. 10/17/2013
