Good transitional tub for little ones

This inflatable bath tub is exactly as shown and described. The opening for the baby to sit in is a little small so my 9 month old may outgrow it after he grows 3 or 4 more inches... but it's still a good transitional tub. I think that's also a good thing because it is almost impossible for him to flip forward while sitting in the tub which greatly reduces any chance of him accidentally getting his face in the water. I read some other reviews before I purchased it stating that the tub is hard to fill up with water, difficult to drain, and it's difficult to rinse the child. I disagree. I just put the tail of the tub under the faucet and most of the water runs into the tub; it's small enough that it fills up within a minute. After I put my son into the duck tub I then fill up the regular bathtub with more water; after I wash him I then use a big cup to scoop up the non-soapy water from the regular tub to rinse him off with. When we're done, I open the drain in the bottom of the duck tub and the water drains out really fast. You do have to dry off the suction cup before hanging it on the wall or it will fall right off.

This is great, my 6 m/o fits great and has plenty of growing room, however it's not bulky either. I keep it in the bath tub when not in use and just pull it out to shower. It has a drain which alot of other tubs don't have, as well as a safety slip grip grid on the bottom but it's not rough. I read alot of reviews about different inflatable tubs until I chose this one because it had the best reviews and I am glad I did.

Great for bathrooms with only a shower...

I put this in my kids bathroom since they only have a shower. I fill it up with the shower before I put my baby in it and when I'm done I just position the hole over the drain to empty. Hang it up and it ready for his next bath time! Their bathroom is done in ducks so it makes a very cute addition!;)

I am making a Berry Blue punch for a friend of mine's baby shower which looks like water with a a mother duck and baby ducks floating on the water. I saw this and decided it would make a good punch bowl for the punch, (after being washed of course) then she can keep the tub for the babys bath.

Cute duck - great for 1 yr old with tough skin

My daughter has a plastic toddler tub for everyday use, but I hoped this would make a suitable travel tub. It is very kid-friendly. My 21 lb. 1-yr old wanted to get inside the duck as soon as she saw it, and she enjoys playing in it and lounging about with her back and head resting on the side with the duck head. There was plenty of room for her to stretch her legs, but a larger child might feel cramped. I would recommend it - however, be advised: Even though I wiped the duck down and rinsed it out with warm water prior to use, to get rid of any contaminants, the duck tub irritates her skin. Every time we use it, her back is almost immediately covered with red rough patches where her skin comes in contact with the tub. We have used it several times. Each time the tub is washed, rinsed and dried thoroughly, and we only use a small amount of Burt's Bees shampoo/wash in her bath, like always, so a soap allergy is not the issue. For now, I have deflated the duck and will use it as our emergency tub only, since it obviously is made of something or has something on it that she is allergic to... it's too bad, I hoped we could get more use out of it.

I'm sorry if I missed this in the description or in the comments/reviews but how do you inflate this? Is it self inflatable, do you have to use a pump? I want one for my wiggly worm 6mo old grandson :)

  • A. No it's not self inflatable, you have to blow it up yourself or if you can buy a pump that might be very helpful but once it's up your grandson will enjoy it my 5 month year old loves it!

  • A. You can blow this up yourself in less than five minutes or if you have weak lungs like me use a mini vacuum/blower or an electric pump like the ones you use for air mattresses.

  • A. I just blew it up with my mouth. It would be a lot easier with a hand pump if you have one. There are two things on the bottom that you open then can push up inside after its inflated, so they're flush with the bottom.

  • A. It has two points to inflate with, you can use your mouth. I'm not sure if a pump would work but it might?

  • A. There are 2 regular valves that you blow up with your mouth. Since this was going in a silent auction we pumped it up with a ball pump.
