got this for my son for his 1st birthday and he loved it. have purchased this 2nd one for his babysitter and the kids she watches. one of the mom's immediately ordered her own. the cube has an on/off switch, volume control, and kids can turn on and off each instrument easily. no sharp corners and it's not too big. i heard about this from someone who's 4 year old twins still play with theirs they got as babies.

I decided to purchase this for my 18mth old niece and was amazed and how great this was...it's very entertaining and is undoubtedly her most favorite toy..she loves to dance along to the different tunes and is intrigued by how it lights up according to the tune...I would recommend this to anyone looking for a very educational and entertaining toy..to see her face light up everytime she sees or hears it makes it worth every single penny..

My daughter got this as a Christmas gift and she LOVES it. She's 18 months now, but she's loved it since she got it. My 3 year old has also gotten a lot of use out of it. They both really like it and I love that as they get older, they can understand the sounds of the different instruments. It's a really cool product. More toys these days need to be geared more towards teaching kids about music!

    • 3 AA batteries required. To access, remove the face plate where the On/Off switch is located with a small Phillips head screwdriver. Pull out the battery compartment. In my opinion, this toy lasts awhile before batteries need to be replaced.

    • Batteries are required, but if I remember right, they come in the cube and last forever. My son is 2 and I think we have changed batteries 2 times in 2 years and he uses it almost daily.

    • This toy takes 3 AA batteries and you will need a medium phillips head screw driver. It is very easy to change the batteries: after removing the screws, the tray pulls out that holds the batteries.

    2. How does baby go from one of the 8 Mozart compositions to the next? 3. In what order are these 8 Mozart compositions?
    by DIETIWILLBUYIT 12/7/2010
    • Listed on box are: Marriage of Figaro, Country Dance #5, Come Sweet May, Twinkle Twinkle (Ah! Vous Diral-je Maman, Der Vogelfanger (Magic Flute), March in D, Landler, and LaCi Darem La Mano (Don Giovanni) I don't know my music, so hope this helps. The baby pushes twice on the "Orchestra" button side of cube and the next song starts, or can scroll through all 8. States that the compositions are arranged by a 3 time Grammy Award Winner.

    • Fun, creative, and inspiring, the Magic Cube teaches how sounds combine to create eight Mozart masterpieces. With a touch of a button, this interactive cube lets your child add or subtract from any combination of five different instruments, including harp, French horn, piano, flute, and violin. Each selected instrument button flashes along to the beat of the music. An orchestra button even plays all the instruments at once.

    • It was pretty neat- the piano picture was pushed and all the instruments play and as you push each side (corresponding to one instrument) that instrument would stop or start. there was a piano, flute, harp, and 3 others. we found our granddaughter likes the flute best at 16 months. you just push the piano button again to go to the next song. Sorry don't know the names of the songs.

    • 1. Not sure of Mozart compositions 2. Baby taps on picture of musical instrument on the cube. 3. They replay after all eight have been heard. Music stops after each musical composition. Cube must be tapped to begin next selection.

    • I wish I knew what they are all called. It does play twinkle twinkle and one that sounds like a song I've heard with words about the month of may? In answer to your other question, you push the orchestra button to change the song and then can select which instruments play it by pushing the different instrument buttons.

    • My little grand daughter got this for Christmas last year, she was 6 months old then. I played it for her by touching the buttons on each side of the block. She still uses the box and loves it . It plays twinkle twinkle little star. The bottom button plays all the parts. on each side you can pick the piano, violin, harp, flute or whatever part. When Julie was little I would "conduct" the music and she picked that up right away so when she turns it on she conducts the music and dances now. I was surprised she played with it so regularly. Lots of fun. I truly great value.

    • You can choose the one you want to play. There is an orchestra button and all you have to do is push the orchestra button while it is playing and it will change to another, push it again and it will change again.
