It holds about 30 extra large pads and totally controls odor. We like them so well we have one in each of our homes. No more "elderly" odor, no more candles or sprays.This is the diaper pail system I WISH I had bought for my granddaughter in place of the Genie system. So simple to empty, seals for disposal, easy loading, no pushing or shoving or sharp edges on the container. 04/04/2013
