You've never tasted a great cup of coffee til you've made coffee in a press. My friend has always made me coffee with his. I got hooked and got my own! The frother is an added bonus & is really neat to froth the cream.

I recently bought this due to my traditional coffee maker dying on me. A friend had a French Press and me being an avid coffee drinker, was really interested in owning one. It is affordable, easy to use and clean and is nice looking! I love my French Press and have recommended it to others!!!! Since I'm the only one in the house that drinks coffee, I make a full pot, drink what I want and stick it in the fridge and reheat later...sooo simple!

  • Yes, the pot is glass. The metal frame around it helps keep the coffee warm. You remove the glass pot for cleaning...super easy.

  • Yes, it is glass. It looks nice, but my glass cracked after only 3 months of use. I'm taking it back this morning and I recommend you buy a different brand. This one is poorly designed and not at all durable even for ocassional home use.

  • NO it is not glass, I just bought mine this week and will be taking it back because IT IS plastic! Very hot water in plastic is not a good taste.

  • I use a pyrex 1 qt. measuring cup filled with filtered water in the microwave for 9 mins. then pour it into the coffee press that has my coffee grounds already in it. I stir, let it sit for a while, then press.

  • You could remove the glass pot and microwave it..I just pour some into a mug and heat that way.

  • The casing is metal, so no. The inner glass cylinder is glass and can be removed. Since the glass is not Pyrex, I would not attempt to for chance of shattering. While it has not had any issues with boiling water, the microwave can cause (in rare circumstances) water to get hotter than boiling point. This could lead to breaking.

  • sure, it's made of glass, so no problem. though, its made to have the beans in the container and pour the water onto the beans, not heating the water while the grounds are already submerged.
