This coffee maker does have a removable filter basket that lifts out for fast and easy cleaning and filling.

Yes.  The basket is hinged with upper and lower pegs. Swing the basket out, then raise the lower peg out of it&#39;s hole and tilt it towards you. Then lower the upper peg and the basket is free. Reverse process to reinstall the basket.

Hi Snazzygirl. Yes the filter basket is removable for washing or used coffee grounds disposal. The first few times I had a little trouble finding the holes to put it back on but after a few tries I finally got it. =)

To change filters, basket swivels out, on 2 plastic pins at the top and bottom of the left side of the basket, that are sometimes hard to line up and put back in place, and then another pin on the right side top,  is pushed into a rubber grommet, that keeps the filter from swinging open.   Other than that, it works fine, and had a better rating than most coffee makes we inspected.

Yes Pete. This coffee maker does use the paper filters. Once the coffee is done brewing I don&#39;t remove the basket - I find it a pain in the behind to get it lined back up so I just take the used filter out

Is the filter the cheap basket type paper filter?

This coffee maker will have a removable filter basket.

You would need to purchase either the 10-12 cup paper filters or the 10-12 cup permanent filter to make coffee in the BVMC-EVX23 coffee maker.

We are returning this unit for the reason you ask - it comes with no secondary &#39;basket&#39; or plastic insert. It&#39;s like making a cup of coffee and forgetting to add the plastic insert before you put the paper filter on top of that. If we didn&#39;t know any better we&#39;d think it came missing a piece but we read the manual and indeed the product is supplied this way. The hot water blasts through and the coffee ends up tasting very watered down.

Hi km. To answer your question, yes the coffee pot does need filters or a coffee &quot;basket&quot;. On this model, you removed the coffee pot and the piece holding the used grounds come completely off so you can dispose of the used coffee grounds.

I love my new Mr. Coffee programmable coffee maker. I have had several Mr. Coffee coffee makers in the past. What I love most about this one is that the gage for the water level is on the front. My other one was on the side of the coffee maker and was difficult to see. This one is so easy to program and use. I am a very happy customer.

I was a seriously loyal Bunn coffeemaker person for YEARS! Then something happened to their quality. And with the economy today - I got tired real fast of paying $150-200+ dollars a year because they stopped working.
When my last Bunn stopped working I pulled out an older Mr. Coffee that I had in the closet for when we traveled.  That coffee pot lasted about 6-7 years so when it finally died - I went with another Mr. Coffee. You just can't go wrong AND it was only $20. I've saved so much $ over the years. Now I'm loyal Mr. Coffee buyer and this one is going strong.

Former Bunn only coffeemaker person

I've used this coffee maker for a week and am very satisfied.   I like the clear carafe, as well as the frosted window that allows easy viewing of the water level after filled and while brewing.  I've been brewing about 10 cups in less than10 minutes.  I have not used the timer feature .  The filter basket easily removes for cleaning.  It's all most people will ever need, I like it!

Mr Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker

This coffeemaker is easy to use and has a relatively small footprint freeing up space on the counter. It also makes very good tasting coffee. I have found Mr. Coffee coffeemakers make coffee that is equal to or surpasse more expensive machines.

We have used Mr Coffee units for years and have had good service.  After several weeks this one performs well.  It brews quicker than any of our previous ones.  The basket complaint by some reviewers is a minor objection.   When one analyzes the technique needed to insert and remove the basket , it is not a problem.  A light on the clock might be useful for individuals who don't have a clock on their microwave or stove or need to adjust the delay time frequently....not a problem for us.
