Rated 5 out of 5★ by SCUAmanda Great picture quality at a great price I got this monitor to replace a different monitor that seemed to be dying on me (different brand). My son is 18 months so I liked that this one is more moderately priced but still has great picture clarity and features. Overall, I am much happier with this monitor but there are a few differences to note between the two monitors that I used.Pros:-Quick to set up: my husband had the camera mounted in a few minutes and we used the monitor the same night-Easy to use: the buttons are clearly marked and intuitive. This was not the case with the other brand of monitor that we used.-Signal works great: our previous monitor kept dropping the signal at night when nothing was moving at all (why we replaced it). This monitor had a great signal all night and the sound was clear.-Great picture quality: the monitor we had before did not have as clear of a picture. This one is great in light and dark. The picture is black and white when in night mode, but this is standard.-Zoom and pan ability: you are able to zoom in to 2x the normal level, and from there use the arrows to pan around the normal picture. You can't move this camera remotely, but we have the camera pointed to capture the whole crib and I can zoom in when I want to see his face more clearly if I want to. Our old monitor did not do this, and while not essential I do like it so far for making sure his face isn't smashed into his pillow or anything.-You can talk to baby to soothe him/her without actually going in their room. Both monitors had this.Cons: (features our previous monitor had that this one doesn't)-Does not play music: our previous monitor had the option to play music to help soothe baby back to sleep. My son never liked this though - he cried harder because he knew I was watching! I don't really miss this feature at all.-Does not display temperature: This is the one that I probably miss the most. Now that I am not a new mom though I don't worry about it as much. We have the room temp down to a science with the heater at the right setting, his fleece PJs, and a blanket that he usually just kicks off. This is not a big deal to me now, but might have been when I had a newborn. One of the slightly more expensive Motorola models does have this feature though if it is important to you.-Smaller screen: Our old monitor had a larger screen, but because the picture is so much clearer on this screen I can actually tell a lot better what is going on, especially at night. With the old monitor I would squint at the screen trying to determine what was balled up blanket and what was baby. I can see clearly both when it is light and dark with the Motorola monitor, so I don't miss the larger screen. Also, I'm not sure if this is a pro or con, but the audio stays on all the time. Our old monitor would shut off when there wasn't any noise and only kick back on when noise was detected. We are used to this, so I'm not sure which way is better in the long run, but this will take some getting used to. You can hear a slight white noise sound which can be very quiet if you have the volume down or a bit more noticeable if you turn it up. It bugged me at first, but when I realized it was still loud enough to wake me on the lowest volume setting if my son cries then the white noise was so quiet that I didn't even notice it. The benefit of this is that I hear every noise he makes and am not woken as often with false alarms. The old monitor that turned on when noise was detected would often turn on and you wouldn't hear anything (just a loud white noise) because he just made one noise in his sleep. Also when you have this Motorola monitor plugged in on your night stand the screen stays on. You can turn it off while the audio stays on (which we do). What's nice about this is that the old monitor that we had turned on the screen and audio when sound was detected which was enough to wake me up a lot of the time when he just made one noise and went back to sleep. It is easier for me to sleep through the minor sleep noises without the screen turning on and off. Then when my son actually makes a noise that sounds like he is waking up or upset I can just either hit the power button or the volume buttons to turn on the screen and see what he is doing. I think overall I will get better sleep using this monitor and only wake up when my son really needs me.This is a great monitor at a great price, especially for having a second camera. We plan to set up the second camera to monitor the rest of his room when he is playing. Everything is baby proofed so he can play with limited supervision, and this will allow us to get chores accomplished or relax in the other room while still keeping an eye on him. 07/22/2014
Rated 4 out of 5★ by GlessK Works for what I need I needed a portable monitor to be able to go outside with my 2 year old while infant slept. I also needed two cameras for both of their rooms. So far I like this product and it does it's job well. I like that I can set monitor to go back and forth between rooms or just watch one room if needed. The only downside is the quality of the picture isn't as good as my previous monitor but it still does the job I need and was a good price too. 07/12/2014
Rated 4 out of 5★ by ASMT It's great It's easy to set up, night vision is fine, intercom works great. The light does shine a bit brighter than I'd like, but it doesn't bother me. A con would be that the camera has to be manually moved, but it's not bad. And the battery does need to be charged after about 3 hrs.It works great and the price was great. 07/29/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★ by PJ1031 Love this monitor! Best deal for 2 cameras! With other monitors it was $70-$100 for an extra camera! Clear picture on day and night vision, no lag. Zoom is awesome. Very easy to set up. Great for when you have more than 1 child. 08/04/2014
Rated 1 out of 5★ by MommytoEmmaandAvery Piece of Junk Camera I purchased this camera because I could get two for the price of one... We'll you get what you pay for! This camera has many good features, however you can't use them when the camera breaks after 2 weeks of use! It was never dropped or mistreated. I turned it on the other day and the screen was completely white! I am returning it today and purchasing another brand, I would highly recommend that people do NOT purchase this monitor! 09/25/2014
