About this item

From Lisi Harrison, the New York Times bestselling author of The Clique and Alphas, comes a new series with a fresh twist on high school, romance, and the "horrors" of trying to fit in.

The monster community has kept a low profile at the local high school, but when two new girls enroll, the town will never be the same. Created just fifteen days ago, Frankie Stein is psyched to trade her father's formaldehyde-smelling basement lab for parties and prom.

But with a student body totally freaked out by rumors of monsters stalking the halls, Frankie learns that high school can be rough for a chic freak like her. She thinks she finds a friend in fellow new student Melody Carver-but can a "normie" be trusted with her big secret?

I got this for my birthday. I was reluctant at first, but when I started reading it I could not stop! It is romantic, full of action, exciting, and did I mention romantic? I love this book and you will too. A must for Monster High fans.

  • My 10 1/2 -year old has read this. She said the characters are pretty typical high school kids - there's talk of kissing and dating. However, my daughter loves the books so far, and there doesn't seem to be anything inappropriate that I've seen.

  • My daughter is 11 and I am going to let her read this book when I finally put it down. Jillian swears, not too often, but she does drop the F-bomb a few times. Considering the good it can do for my daughter's self esteem and direction, I am willing to let her read a few unsavory words. The question is: Are they mature enough to take what they're reading and apply it? It's different from child to child. But I think gaining that mind-frame so young can really help them. I hope I've helped, good luck!
