Monkey Hat 1 1
Adorable hat - just what I was looking for. I looked all over for a little sock monkey hat for my 2 1/2 year old that was machine washable and not dry clean only (who wants a dry clean only hat for a kid?????). I finally found this one on Walmart.com and figured I would give it a try and return it if it didn't fit or wasn't washable. I love it. It's a little big for him, but it's very soft and stretchy so it doesn't fall off at all, it just has some "extra" hat above his little head. But I think it's cuter that way anyway. He's gotten quite a few compliments from people when we're out and about. He loves the little dangling pom poms. They hang just at hand level for him so they're handy for holding onto. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and washed it about 5 times and it still looks great - even the pom poms. I am very impressed with that. It's lined with a nice soft lining so it's not itchy like regular knitted hats can be. And it's very warm and keeps his ears snug. As far as fit, my 9-and 10-year olds can wear it, but I don't know about an adult. I haven't tried it on due to not wanting to stretch it out at all.I gave it a 4 for value since I think $15.00 is a bit high for a knitted hat, but this one has a lot of extras and trimmings and the lining, so overall I think it's a pretty decent deal. As far as quality and appearance and "cute factor", I am extremely satisfied with the hat. One of the few things that I think looks better in person than in the picture online. 01/27/2012
