Ok, It's not what I wanted exactly; but this bike is a value buy. What I wanted is a real action bike to ride up to mountain and do some downhills. It is not. The front disc brake is probably the smallest one around, and the rear V brake is just OK. The suspension works great with a squeezing sound, I use it to get up and down sidewalk with no problem. It's gear ration is at a popular setting. To suit my need, I changed the rear cassette to wider range for climbing. Other than that, I keep everything stock and it's ready for some basic actions, I won't use it for advance trail, but just came back from a 40 miles mixed trail/tar ride. The bike is working fine and looks like a real one. Consider how much a real capable mountain bike would cost, this bike is value buy

I purchased this bike several weeks ago as a replacement for an old Vertical bike that was about 15 yrs old, I've put about 150 miles on it and so far have had to replace the front disc brake due to a bad caliper because the disc pads only touched about 1/2 of the rotor on the inside. I've replaced the rear derailer because after a few rides it was lose and was moving all over the place at the pivot point on the bracket where it attaches to the frame, I've had to replace both shift levers because they broke, the bolts for the blue pivot bar for the rear shock came lose so I replaced the loc tite on them. 99% of my riding is urban and I've only had this bike off road twice on beginner trails so it's not like I'm out on some rough and rugged trail beating it up, I am a 130 lb 51 year old male. I understand you get what you pay for but the bike really is built with a poor quality drive train and front brake. On the plus side I do like the way it handles and the 27.5 wheels are great. The frame itself seems solid with the exception of the front forks, under hard braking they seem to want to fold under the front of the bike. The suspension is pretty stiff but that could be due to my weight.

I've had this bike more than 1 week now. I was supposed to get a text message when it arrived at the store, and no surprise, I did not. The box it came in was large, and would not fit into our Honda Accord, which I expected. You will need a mini van/SUV with the rear seat removed/flat, or truck to get this home in the box. I had the store assemble it, and I just rode it home. (I don't recommend assembly/stuck in trunk of car, for any bicycle, as they are generally not built to take the sort of stress that can apply to the parts and frame.) The store assembly was about 90% finished, the tire pressure was too low, and the handle bars were not properly tightened. All that aside everything was basically were it needed to be. I am around 200 lb and the tire pressure indicates max pressure at 40psi for a 165lb rider, so the tires are very squishy at 40, I have them at 45 in the rear and 50 in the front, for now. The wheels were not true when I got the bike home, there was some wobble and the rear brake was rubbing during my initial ride home. Additionally the front disc brake, which is amazing, rubbed slightly. I have since corrected those minor discrepancies, adjusting the brakes and truing the rear wheel, and the bike works very well. Shifting is very smooth, the front disc break is strong enough to lock the wheel, the rear brake is fair, it works well enough. I am generally happy with the bike, except for one area, the grips and controls. I don't have large hands, I wear a medium glove, that being said, my hands fill the entire grip. When I received the bike there was not enough room on the bars for a four finger grip, not without overlapping the shift dials, and during a couple of rides I was shifting when I didn't intend to, and one occasion caused the chain to completely derail. I have since moved the shifters, to allow more hand room, that in turn moved the brake levers further away, which need to be about 1" longer realistically. If you are not good at, or inclined to tinker and fine tune your bike, you might not be happy with this one "out of the box". However if you have a proper set of tools and some basic mechanical skills, this is an excellent bicycle, when properly set up for the rider. You will probably benefit from a maintenance stand, or a friend who can adjust the spokes for a true (straight) wheel.

since i ordered this online and didnt see it in person I wasnt sure what to expect I did look at the smaller mongoose 26 in the store which looked great so ordered the slightly bigger bike. First arrived very quickly and was packaged well.. not a scratch or mark on it.. It was easy to set up, only had to adjust the front disc brake I have been riding it for a little bit and it seems to work well and handle all the variety of terrain, for the price it is a good bike. One thing to note is that while peddling you cant turn the front wheel very much without getting in the way of your feet on the peddles.. other than that its pleasant to ride

This is the second bike I have purchased (the first one i had to return....twice) from walmart. Once again the gears on the bike are not working properly (I'm assuming bad assembly??) No wonder walmart offers it for free.....it's not worth anything! I will be returning tomorrow to resolve the issue...just more time out of my day. Thanks walmart
