ive been changing my own oil since i started driving and even before that, maily cuz i dont trust the oil changing places i mean how do i know they are putting in the brand and weight oil i want? how do i know they change the oil filter? i maintain my own car that way i know its done the correct way and the way i want it done rather then being ripped off! i put the 0W-20 mobile1 advanced full synthetic in my 09 corolla sport and never had an issue dont leak, use, or burn any oil at all! as to the guy of "never again" honda accord 06 it says on the bottle that its recommended for MOST toyotas and hondas, if your car requires it then you run it read the oil cap and owners manual!

The reason car makers are using lower viscosity is to reduce friction for better mileage as mandated by the government. For various reasons the safest bet is to follow the guidelines set forth by the car engineers. If you're interested in oil got to bobistheoilguy.com. I use Mobil 1 and change it annually. My car is a hard working Honda roadster that that red lines at 9,000 RPM. It pulls 240 horses out of 2 litters and the engine is bullet proof. Change the filter at 6 months and you'll be good to go for a long time. Last I heard, Mobil 1 filters were made by Purolater , which are highly rated. The Honda S2000 was last made in 2009 and rather than depreciating, prices are rising. There 2000.s out there for sale at over 150K.

I started buying oil for car oil changes from walmart and never regretted my decision. Easy ordering and best prices make this a no-brainer. when it comes to the oil quality, I find Mobil to work exceptionally well.

I use this oil in my Subaru Forester 2014. Improves my mileage and wear. Walmart price was the best even better than Amazon. Shipping time was good. Packaging was good.

39.5 mpg on a 2001 Honda Civic EX

Notes: 228,000 miles 2001 Honda Civic EX sedan - 4 speed automatic Change oil every 10,000 miles Filter used = XG Fram My car is rated at 35mpg by Edmunds. With this oil, I've been averaging 39.5 mpg and actually reached 40 mpg during a 180 mile non-stop road trip. It's important to note that the A/C was not on during these road trips, with the A/C on I only get 35mpg and that's probably what Edmunds was calculating. Not bad considering that my car does have 228,000 miles, I've been using this oil since 165,000 miles and it performs better than their Mobil 1 Full Synthetic High Mileage which only gave me 33mpg. I didn't notice any sealing changes from that oil so that's why I switched back to the Advanced Fuel Economy oil.

    • A. Probably not, look for Mobile 1 High Mileage, it has extra additives to condition seals/rings etc. Always use what's recommended in your owner's handbook. Look under capacities for all fluids.

    • A. it is a little thin for that motor. I had a ML320 1999 and 5w-40 mobil one is what I used.

    • A. I have a LONG history with synthetic... Would ONLY recommend it to new cars just starting its oil history. To run Mobil 1 or any other synthetic would be a mistake on older cars that have not used synthetic oil. I would still recommend Mobil 1 oil filters to everyone regardless of type of oil.

    • A. at the mileage you have you would rather not use synthetic, because you can get an oil leak since there would be less friction in the engine if you have not used it before and your engine has some burn out deposits, cracks, etc. (those cracks are sealed by deposits). Talk to your mechanic and ask rather him.

    • A. Your Mercedes does not call for a 0W-20 oil. A suitable oil (that meets the specifications for your vehicle) would be Mobil 1 0W-40. Oil is cheap compared to the cost of a new engine.

    • A. Yea it will work. It's just that mostly Hondas and toyotas are 0W-20
