Rated 4 out of 5★ by jschiavoni organic is the buzz word and I am trying to eat healthier foods so far I am seeing good results with this being mixed into my regular garden soil. One question/answer I did not find on the package label is regarding the manure - does this manure come from non-chemical grazing land? If it is a by-product from the feed lots then the organic label is misleading. 06/14/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by josephene Plants performed poorly compared to native soil I used the Organic Soil in a new raised bed right next to an inground bed with native soil amended with manure, compost and spagnum moss. The organic soil was full of wood chips just like another reviewer said. If I knew last year what I know now I would have loaded the 7 big bags back in the car and taken it back to the store. Wood chips reduce the nitrogen in the soil leaving less for the plants to thrive on.The plants in the miracle gro soil did poorly while the other bed thrived with the same batch of transplants and the same care. What plants managed to produce in the miracle go organic bed produced less than 50% of what the other bed produced.I've used the regular miracle gro soil before and had good results but have been trying to go organic. I will be more careful of just relying on the label this year. 12/27/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by klorentz Worked well mixed with garden soil. I have used this product before and am rather puzzled by the wood chips comments. Now I do know the organic potting soil does have wood chips and would not recommend it and if the other reviewers mentioning wood chips might have picked up the wrong bag of soil. When I mixed it with my garden soil and followed my regular feeding program my tomatoes and peppers thrived and gave me a good crop.Make sure you pick up the right organic choice bags or you may be disappointed. 03/27/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★ by RainbowsAfterRain Nice Dark Soil Some people are blessed with nice soil in their yards. Not us. Our soil is clay. We set up a raised garden bed using Miracle Grow Organic Soil and vermiculite last year. The soil looked dark and rich, and our pants seemed happy. There were no foreign materials in the soil as mentioned by other reviewers. We are using the same soil with vermiculite this year in another bed. Soil looks great. I like that it is organic as I would like to avoid chemical fertilizers. 03/25/2014
