Nice and large and sturdy, I couldn't ask for a better price. The lowest I found before Walmart was like $109. Easy to pop up, no tools needed and it has a divider for when you know your pup will grow to be a larger dog.

    • I personally do not think they are the stackable kind. I do not think the metal in the bottom crate would be strong enough for the weight of a dog and another crate on top of it.

    • Yes they are. For safety, you should bungee both sides

    • I just looked at mine u might be able to but I am not sure how stirty it would be, it doesn't look like it was designed to do that. But it might work and might not, hope it helps a little.

    • I wouldn't stack them only because if the weight of the dog in the top one is too heavy then the bottom one might collapse in! Other than that they are very sturdy!

    • I would think yes....this is a small puppy size cage and seems to be light but sturdy enough to stack if need be

    • Personally I wouldn't recommend stacking them. I have stacked the larger plastic ones and they are much more suited to that.

    • Possibly, but I'm not sure if I recommend it unless you are talking about small dogs.

I have an 18lb puppy. What size do you recommend for him? I was looking at the large because I don't want him to feel cramped. What do you think?
    by an anonymous customer 12/5/2010
    • Depending on the type of dog, it sounds like quite a big one! I'd recommend the large and you can use the divider that comes with the crate to block the puppy off of part of it until it gets bigger!

    • I would go for the larger one. I had a beagle, pretty heavy, weighed about 35 lbs . When he had surgery on his head we kept him inside this, he had his water in there as well as a blanket to sleep on. He had to wear an elizabethan collar due to the surgery and it worked just fine.

    • It realy depends on how big he will get. I also have a medium size crate by this co. and it comes with a divider that u can adjust as your puppy grows.

    • Your 18lb dog would fit in the small crate. However since it is just a puppy I would invest in a crate the size needed for when it is grown. The crate comes with a divider that can be adjusted as your puppy grows.

    • What size will your puppy be, you can google the sizes depended upon breeds. And they don't feels cramped, they like smaller palces, and my puppy likes a blanket over her crate, it makes them feel safe, they are den animals, you wanna use it as a reward and not punishment, put food in it, and like an old shirt, get a divider for a bigger crate so that puppy can grwo into it, you don't want it biggger b/c it will soil one side and sleep on the other!

    • I would suggest the biggest there is and mine came with a pannel u can put in to make it smaller when they r a puppy so they learn not to eliminate in their crate.

    • Well first off how old is your puppy and what is the adult breed standard? Sounds like you should have at least a large if not x-large
      by LissaW112/9/2010
Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
    • It depends on how large your puppy will be when he is full grown. I measured my dog (7 months) while she was sleeping in several different positions to get an idea of the largest crate that she would need to comfortably sleep. If your pupply is small now and will become large when grown, it does come with a seperatar that will allow you to start with it smaller and expand as needed. Hope this helps

I am getting a Yorkie in a couple of weeks. What size Crate would you recommend? The Small, X-Small or XX-Small? Thanks!
    by an anonymous customer 12/9/2010
    • The small fits a dog that will be 25 pounds. Mine should weigh 12-15, so that's the one I bought

    • I have a 4lb Yorkie/Maltese mix & he fits perfect in his XX-Small. He has some room to spare
      by MomTo3InNY5/8/2013

    • I would say the xxs. That breed is tiny, so he or she should be fine with that size for sure. That is the size I got for my maltese and he's doing great in it. Although he's not full grown yet, i can tell that he will grow into it just fine.

    • I believe the X-small would be good for your yorkie. I have a yorkiepoo and she has the small and it is a great fit for her.

    • Small
      by OwernofNerdHerd2/9/2011
Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
    • I would suggest the x-small I would think the xx_small might be for a teacup chiwawah (don't know how to spell) and yorkies aren't very big, but can be bigger than a teacup. But that is just my guess. I got a medium size for my mini daschund and it is too big for him. But it does come with a pannel to put in so when they are puppies u can make it smaller so they learn not to eliminate in their crate, which they will if there is enough room too.

    • My new puppy is a 16 week old pomerainian. I purchased the X-Small size becuase this product comes with a nifty divider to expand as she grows and is more sucessful with house breaking. I felt XX-Small maybe too small when she is adult size.

    • My puppy is a 9lb shiu tsu. She can stretch out comfortably and even have some chew toys with her. We have the x-small and I doubt she will outgrow it.
