We wanted to get a crate that was comfortable enough for a small 15-20lb dog. We already purchased the same crate for one of our pups. The divider has come in handy when we got our second dog. It allowed them to be next to each other, but separate them from nipping at one another. It actually helped along for the two dogs to become friends. We bought a second one for the sake of another animal and having the second door allows us to move the crate and reposition it as we please. Our first one has been with us for about 3 years and it's in great condition.

This is a very nice crate. It took me a minute to figure out how to stand it up. But as usual, I needed to take a second to glance at the directions. There is no assembly. All you do is pick up the right section and lift. Then pull on 4 sides to solidify it. I am using the divider with my puppy and it is the perfect size. When he gets bigger and is trained, I can remove it. Very nice and the best price out there. My only regret is not buying this item 2 weeks earlier. They were offering a free crate pad with this at one point.

Solidly made and the two doors makes it easy to use in any size room. Easy to collapse for transporting and reasonably priced for such high quality material.

I have a cocker spaniel who is 6 yrs old so he is full grown, weighs 32 lbs. What size would I order? Medium?

    • Purchase the 36" crate.

    • Medium is probably best. What you could do is go to the store and check out the size differences, then order the one that fits him from the website (mine was less expensive and a better quality than the one in the store).

    • The medium crate should work. The rule of thumb is that the dog is only supposed to have enough room to stand, turn around, and lay down. If your dog is fully house trained, then you are allowed to go bigger. To be on the safe side, I would go with the large cage and if it's too big, it comes with a divider panel that you can make the cage smaller with.

    • The medium would give him plenty of room.

    • I personally would buy a large for a dog that is going to be 32lbs and make sure you receive a middle border that can adjust the space inside the crate as the dog grows. Hopefully, buy the time the dog is older, you won't need this anyways. I purchased an adjustable childrens' gate and leave my dogs in the kitchen when I am gone. I bought a child's mattress as well. Cheaper and water proof.

    • I would get the medium. I have 3 chihuahuas, purchased 3 medium size cages. There is enough room for a food & warer dish, a pad that I fold in half (more like a sleeze) and a small bedding.

    • I have a 7 pound Cavachon puppy and we have the small size--the divider allows us to limit how much space she has to aid in housebreaking. Check out the sizes at the store then order the less expensive and better quality one from the website.

    • The rule of thumb is that your dog is only supposed to have room to stand up, turn around, and lay down. If your dog is already house trained, you can get a bigger kennel. I have a 12 pound chi/pekingnese mix that I got the medium crate for. The medium crate turned out to be a lot bigger than I thought, but she's comfortable in it and has plenty of room to move around. My dog has to be in it for up to 8 hrs at a time and does fine in it.

    • we have the small (24x18x21) for our 11lb poodle/maltese mix & he has more than enough room

    • Medium. That is what I used for my 14lb dog when I first rescued him from a shelter. We can still use the crate if needed but have trained the dog to just stay in the kitchen behind a child's fence and sleep on a child's waterproof mattress - cheaper and more durable than a dog's bed.
