Good Radio This is a good radio for the value - it consistently operates and is loud enough for me to hear the NOAA alerts from any room in the house. The instruction manual is very basic and I cannot figure out a way (I don't think there is one) to set alerts for only my area. I pick up the surrounding cities. Also, if you are looking to only get alerts for hurricanes or tropical storms, I do not think there is a way to set it. I get all storm alerts, including thunderstorms which happen daily in FL. 08/18/2009
Cheap voice alert did not work out of the box and siren went out within week. Return it and will have to find another one. In this case you get what you pay for. 07/07/2009
Worth While Purchase If you need a weather alert radio this one is a bargain. Three alert modes with battery backup if power goes out. We use the siren mode it wakes you up,the only down side to this radio is you receive alerts from such a broad area from the local national weather service office. The set up instructions are pretty good. 06/21/2009
