Metro 2033 is a story of intensive underground survival where the fate of mankind rests in your hands. In 2013 the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth's surface into a poisonous wasteland. A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age. The year is 2033. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival, with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside.
You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised Underground. Having never ventured beyond your Metro Station-City limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat. Your journey takes you from the forgotten catacombs beneath the subway to the desolate wastelands above, where your actions will determine the fate of mankind.

great game and great price price was awesome and i really enjoyed the game. atmosphere of the game is good and so is the graphics. Very fun, well worth the $20!took about a week to win though, gonna get the add on download content and play again. 01/09/2011
Great game for the price This game can be a little rough around the edges at times. The graphics are not the greatest, and sometimes the controls feel a bit clunky. However, these minor issues don't detract from overall gameplay. The atmosphere and story of this game are second to none, and are definitely worth the price of admission. 01/19/2011
I do like it. I'll make it short.Length: 7-10 hours.Controls: Feels a little heavy, but only noticeable to some people, like me. Otherwise, almost pretty tight.Sound: Few music tracks. The game instead uses sound to incorporate the world around you.Story: It's post-apo, Russian underground with monsters controlling the irradiated surface. It's easy to soak up the atmosphere in the game.Overall: if you take away the mass of quasi-cutscenes and the like, the game is really enjoyable. I wish the controls were tighter like in CoD, however this is not a run-and-gun game. This is a game where planning your moves are sort of required. I enjoyed this game sans a couple of mechanics and the level 'Child.' 01/16/2011
