Bought for my 92 year-old mother. This is the 3rd one she has used. This is definitely the strongest and most stable.

I had a tub gripper in my home. It wasn't the best device, but I needed it to make sure I don't fall in the tub since I live alone and I've had metal surgery in my ankle, bone on bone. I didn't keep it when I sold my home. Now I'm in an apartment and I've sort of slipped a couple of times. I could hardly wait till this one came. It's neat looking and much much better than my old one. Glad I didn't keep the old one.

I bought this to assist my wife access to the bath tub. It is made of steel and has rubber pads on the gripping surfaces to avoid scratching the tub. It is very easy to install and works great. Once installed it will give you the suppurt needed to get into the tub. I am about 265# and it will support my weight with no problem. This item was recieved within 2 days after I ordered it. I highly recommend this item if you have a hard time stepping into the tub. Well worth the price paid. Below is a pic. The tub looks bad but is stained and it cannot be cleaned any better.

  • I would get a grip handle for the side of the wall of the tub to help getting off the seat and no use this for getting off the seat it is to help you get out and in the tub. I have to of these tub grip bars on both sides of me when I get out of the tub to help me get in and out safely.

  • I installed this onto my cast iron tub for my husband who is 200 lbs. and is unsteady on his feet. I use a shower chair in the tub, but this rail makes it easy for him getting in and out of the tub and has proven to be sturdy.

  • Yes- I am an occupational therapist working in the home healthcare setting, and most of my clients have fiberglass tubs. This rail works great on every tub so far, as long as it is within the width described by the product.

  • We have a steel tub and fiberglass is hollow. Much I think would depend on the weight of the person using it as well as the direction from which they use it from. For instance are they getting up from a sitting lying down position as compared with just using it for support to get in and out of the shower while stepping over the edge of the tub.

  • I would think it would be. The parts that touch the tub are sort of padded.
