Yes. I have used them before. It would not play. It shut down my vcr machine. I finally got my machine cleaned by using my old vcr cleaner again and again.

is this product an actualy VHS tape you put in the VCR to clean it?

As far as I know it is only meant to clean the heads on your VCR when your tapes are blurry or streaky. It worked good for that.

dear frank,i do not think so.if your vcr is eating up your tapes,i think you need a new vcr player.you can buy a new vcr/dvd combo at walmart for $80.00.you need to use the cleaner after every 30 showings.frequently used tapes can also cause problem.again i do not think cleaner will work when vcr eats up tape.will eat up cleaner tape also.

HI I DOUBT it, they only thing to do is TRY it, as the cost is cheap enough...Its probably time to find another VCR if you can find one perhaps on line sights Wallmart, Amazon, Ebay. Its been my experience that trying to have Vcr repaired is NOT worth the Money or searching for someone who repairs them! GOOD LUCK..if YOU FIND A NEW VCR BETTER BUY AN EXTRA AS THEY ARE GETTING HARDER & HARDER TO FIND new!!!

if your VCR is eating tapes, I would not recommend this product, as this product is kind of tricky to use, it may eat the tape that the cleaner cart. uses. the product is easy to use if you do not have a problem with your VCR, just that if your machine eats tapes, it might eat the cleaner tape, too.

A dry head lleaner will not solve the problem of a video deck "eating" tapes. This is usually caused by a machine that is badly out of alignment or has a broken video head. It can also be caused by a damaged videocassette, that can in turn damage your video deck.

It wasn't eating tapes prior to the head cleaner

It should be used to prevent this but since it is already happening, my suggestion is to use this tape repeatedly to try and clean it good before you play another tape. And if you have a rewinder, use that and not the player to rewind your tapes. This will help too.

Since the process requires the tape to run through the heads, NO. Your machine will eat this cleaner tape as well.

This dry cleaner is effective 95% of the time so it is not necessary to use a messy wet head cleaner. That's the good news. The bad news is no one is making either anymore so if you find one at Walmart, grab it!!

Perfect Answer to Dirty Video Heads

I have been using this same type of product for years and it lasts awhile and then it wears out.  Alcohol can be used in place of the fluid when it dries out.  worth using instead of taking vcr apart to clean heads.

Good ffor the price

I was hoping to get the item pictured but instead got same type of product but not the one I wanted. This cleaner comes with no instructions whatsoever, written or audio. The only way I "think" it's cleaning is the grating sound I hear when tape is playing. Also it seems you have to rewind after each cleaning and no instruction as to how often this can be done. Very disappointed,especially since the one pictured I have owned before and IT works flawlessly.

Different item sent than pictured

Maxell changed the packaging as well as the product! Walmart did not update the picture on their website so I thought I was ordering the same product I already owned and loved. Walmart should be more up to date on their website products. Maxell changed the product - the cleaner no longer shows a video while cleaning and the audio that tells you what to do was removed. The cleaner didn't even work in my VCR - when I pressed "play", the VCR just turned off. No cleaning was done. I returned this item. Not a bargain at any price!

Misrepresentation

The VCR is 6 years old and started getting lines recently. They got very bad very fast and the picture started rolling and jumping as well. The cleaner I had been using worked up until then. Thinking the old cleaner had just worn out I started looking for a new one and found the Maxell.
I had high hopes for this but it did not clear the picture at all. I ran it through several times without any change to the picture. Very disappointing.

I used 1 of each of these head cleaners in 2 VCR's. This product tangled up in both VCR's, never went through a cycle and now neither VCR works. I am now stuck with 2 non working VCR's; I did get my $10.00 back; a drop in the bucket for what I lost.

Poor quality

This is the second one of these head cleaners I tried. The first time the tape failed to move in the VCR and I returned it. Thinking it was that I just got a bad one I tried again and this time the tape also didn't move and to make matters worse, when I went to try playing my VCR again, there was no picture alternating with black and white bands of squiggly lines that covered the screen--seemed the head cleaner tape deposited some residue on the VCR heads and it was way worse than before I used it. We had to take apart the VCR on our own and clean the heads using rubbing alcohol following a video we found on YouTube about how to clean the heads on your VCR and after doing that the picture came back. But that was extra work and drama we were not looking for. I would not buy this product and it's going back to Walmart.

Doesn't Work and Almost Damaged my VCR

The vhs dry tape cleaner is a blank tape.  When I pushed play on my vcr, it did not show anything at all.  The screen was just blank.  I contacted Antonline and they gave me the run around.  They told me I will have to pay a restocking fee if I send it back.  They sent me a bad product so I should not have to pay a restocking fee.  I will never order anything from them again.

vhs dry tape cleaner does not work

I tried it in my first VCR and mad a scratching noise and tape reel stuck in VCR. Tried again same results. Played a regular tape and that didn't happen. Doesn't seem to be working. Not even worth taking it back to Walmart.

Not worth it.

i used the cleaner and it made screeching noise and when i went to play a tape I couldn't get a picture. then in my other vcr the tape unwound. will never buy this brand again.
