Yes, if used regularly. But it can firm you up which makes you look like you have lost weight even if you haven't yet.

Yes it will, I've been using it for an hour and a half a day for the past 2 days now and lost 2 pounds (I'm also calorie counting, but this is boosting my numbers greatly)

Probably not. It's good if you want to maintain weight, but you need a harder workout to lose weight and the resistance level won't go that high.

Rubbermaid shelf liner material works great when I use cycle on smooth surface. When I use it on carpet, does not move at all.

i have wood floors. it stays where i put it yet uts easy for me to lift

I put the 2 front chair Legs behind it or move the cycle bar  behind the front chair legs to keep it form moving away from me.  Do the same with another one at the office using a office chair with wheels..
