Maple Grove Farms of Vermont began in a farmhouse in 1915. Two local women, Helen Grey and Ethel McLaren, produced handmade maple confections. Through word of mouth their maple candies quickly became best sellers and the company grew large enough to purchase the Fairbanks mansion. Quickly outgrowing the mansion, the Maple Grove Factory was built. It is the oldest and largest maple confection company in the world.
