Atherton Home Manhattan Convertible Futon Sofa Bed and Lounger, Multiple Colors 4.2 5 120 134
best thing I bought from Walmart EVER Im just moving in to my first apartment, and I bought this couch as my couch/bed because I gave my son the bedroom. It is soooo comfortable and so easy to change positions and a breeze to put the legs on. This is by far the best purchase I think I've ever made from WalMart!!! 09/05/2007
Hard bar right down the middle in bed mode, there is a very hard bar running down the center (from head to toe). you can sleep on either side of this bar, but not in the middle of the bed. given that it really isn't that wide, it's a problem. I'm perplexed why so few people reviewing this thing mention this issue.in couch mode, it's fine.whether this item is "too firm" is obviously a matter of opinion. in mine, it isn't too firm. but given the poor design and corresponding poor function, it's not worth the money. 04/02/2009
an affordable, functional & atractive product The sofa is attractive & relatively comfortable and far more so than any other sofa/futon I considered of comparable price. Assembly was a snap even doing it myself. The free Site to Store shipping service was excellent, far better than many expensive shipping experiences I have had. I look forward to ordering on line from WalMart again.I would warn any prospective buyer that they will ned a full size truck to pick this item up; a van or SUV simply won't do. 06/28/2009
Look Elsewhere First Pros: This futon can be put in many positions. The chaise has multiple positions, higher or lower. The three different positions are cool. The look is pretty cool too.cons:As a bed, for some reason the side you usually sleep on is very hard, while the other side is softer. Each half is cased into a separate wooden frame, so you might notice that in the middle its particularly harder and not squishy at all, when in bed form. Basically you have to choose a side to sleep on. It seems that the harder part will eventually soften out but I haven't the clue by how much.I would suggest you get one of the more expensive futons that you can get at a real futon store. Might cost a bit more, but in the end you'll be much more satisfied and no seperations, it will be a complete mattress, no harder or software etc.I would get some extra padding if you plan on sleeping on it for more than a few days. You'll defenitely need it.Oh yea, when you initially open it, it will have an odor that you need to vent out. It uses polyurethane foam and it releases some sort of inner odor/gasses as you squish it over time. I also have previous foam products and it took about 2 months before this odor went away, not sure how long this one will take. Hopefully soon.Reality:I have mine with an extra padding on top to deal with the softer /harder situation plus a sheet on top of that. 07/17/2009
