Very Simple, but Beautiful, Writing Desk

I've been searching for a while for a desk that's small enough to fit my apartment that's not a "computer cart"(definitely not a fan of those). This writing desk is just what I was looking for: smaller than a regular computer desk, but big enough to fit my laptop with enough area to write as well. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a desk that's not exactly full-size, but has a bigger area that the computer cart or "student desks".

I bought this to use as a vanity table. It was very easy to put together, not too many parts. Great for the price. Looks good too.

    • A. No. A standard keyboard is slightly bigger than the drawer. The drawer is about 1 and 1/2 inches deep. It goes across almost 18 inches, but only comes out about 8 inches.

    • A. No. This table will never hold 232 lbs. of water, which is how heavy 29 gallons of water is @ 8lbs/gal. Definitely do not use this for a tank filled with water. I would say, 25 to 30 lbs. would be a maximum weight before it becomes way too top heavy.

    • A. I don't think that's a good idea. You should use something that was made for a fish tank or higher quality furniture. This desk looks nice but would not stand up to much weight on top or many years of use.

I have a 27in iMac that is approximately 25lbs. I'm wondering if this desk is sturdy enough? Also, would there be space for a slim keyboard and mouse pad?

    • A. Jerry, I have an iMac as well and it fits perfectly on the left side corner of the desk. It's very sturdy and I love the open feel of it. Lots of leg room as well. I'm 5'8" and my knees never crack off the underside of the desk. lol

    • A. I use mine to hold the monitor, and the tower is on the floor in between the two desks. I added a shelf myself so I can slide the keyboard underneath under the monitor. It's not a big space depth wise but it works for me.

    • A. Unfortunately, this desk would not be good as a computer desk. It's extremely lightweight and is simply not designed to carry any significant weight. If you're just looking for a temporary solution, this desk is great. But be aware that it would probably warp after a few months under your Mac. I doubt it could handle even a standard monitor for very long! There's a Mainstays computer desk on this site. It's about $15.00 more than this desk, but the extra money is worth it if you want a long-term piece of furniture.
