Rated 2 out of 5 by Bradky977 BIG HEADACHE. Was looking for something simple in the color of black. It is fairly cheap so I can't complain on the price. It seems sturdy, the wood is very cheap and chipped a few pieces on putting it together. Do not put this together by yourself with a screw driver, the instructions is false using a small drill and going slow works much better unfortunately after I got to the top part I already had blisters from tightening screws and then finding out the instructions was incorrect on a few things. Whoever that made the instructions, have never seen this desk nor put it together. The instructions left out many details and felt like I was in the dark. The drawer part sinks down and there is a 2 inch gap between the drawer and desk. Needless to say, after 2 hours and 30 minutes the desk is complete and I'm satisfied considering the price. $40? You really can't complain considering how sturdy it is. 04/29/2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pyotr Not bad for an inexpensive desk I'm quite pleased with this desk, the perfect size I was looking for. It's just wide enough to hold a PC, widescreen monitor and two speakers, and plenty strong to hold that moderate weight. Assembly was a bit of a pain, but the construction does add more sturdiness than I'd normally expect. The ebony black looks more elegant and refined than the usual browns, especially since faux wood grain usually makes brown laminate look cheap. The grain is very subtle and not noticeable on the black color unless you look closely, and it helps randomize the veneer's finish so it's not shiny.The veneer could be a little thicker on the edges, which aren't worn but rather very thinly finished. I'll have to touch them up with a furniture stick or Sharpie. Note to Sauder: use less sticky stickers. Peeling one off took off a small bit of the veneer, so I had to make sure the leg would go to the back. 02/12/2013
