Mainstays Twin Storage Bed, Alder 4 5 81 98
Very Nice Storage Beds at Great Price We bought three, 2 in Alder finish and 1 in Expresso. Parts list and instructions were detailed and easy to follow with all parts accounted for; went together easily. The bed is heavy so plan accordingly: we assembled them in the rooms they'll be in until the kids move out. drawers are roughly 36" x 14" and about 5" deep; they come with 1 drawer divider for each of the 2 drawers which is great! Very satisfied w/ our purchase and would recommend, great value for the price. 04/24/2010

A nice looking bed The head board and drawers are very useful. I can't figure out why the length of the bed is so long. It is longer than a normal twin mattress. I was tempted to return it but it takes so long to put it together I decided to keep it. 02/06/2010
Lots of problems First I will say that I'm a handy person. The problems I had:-There are about 200 parts (including hardware.) On my bed, only about half of the wood pieces were marked as to what piece they were. I had to really think at times to figure out what piece they were talking about, as several are very similar in size and shape.-They didn't explain in advance what the pieces you were building were. I was doing a lot of reading ahead and going back to try to make sense of the instructions.-The drawers were especially difficult. Not enough instruction to make these go together well. I had to take mine apart 3 times before I got it right. Taking them apart is NOT easy. I broke a piece in the process.-Like others have mentioned, be very careful when buying your mattress. I bought a memory foam mattress and it didn't fit. If the mattress is squeezed in even though it's slightly too big, it will warp the frame and make the drawers not fit. Buy four corner brackets and at least two L brackets to secure the side to the platform, then your mattress should be fine - as long as it's not too big.-The thing is mostly held together by pegs. Not screws or nails, pegs (there are some screws and nails, but it's mostly pegs.) Structurally speaking, I'm not confident it's going to hold together long-term. If I had it to do over again I would have used wood glue in the peg holes.-Build it where you want it. It's not structurally sound enough to be moved around without problems.-It took me most of a day to assemble the bed by myself. Having a helper, even if it's just to hand you things, would have sped the progress up a lot. You will definitely want an electric screwdriver. A powerful one that won't die after hours of use.-Things didn't always fit together the way they should. Some of the pegs, when you push one part flush, another part comes apart. I ended up with some places having barely any connection at all. I have confidence in the brackets I added, not the structural integrity of the product on it's own.-There is no indication about weight limits on the bed. We bought it as a guest room bed and I don't really trust that anyone over 200 pounds wouldn't collapse it. I would have added more brackets in more places if I'd known how it was going to assemble in the end.The one thing I have to really compliment them on is the way they organized the hardware. With about 25-30 different kinds of pegs, screws, nails, and miscellany, I found it extremely helpful that the pieces were all wonderfully organized and labeled. 10/29/2011
