No, the drawer is not for keyboard use, and yes, this desk is plenty big enough for a 17" monitor.

No, drawer front does not drop down but it's great for office supplies and a few miscellaneous items you want to put away out of site. However, I didn't see many other desks for this price that do. It's not quite deep enough to store a laptop inside the drawer. It would probably accommodate a 17 in flat screen no problem if its not super heavy.

Chris, the drawer is used more for storage, like pens and small notebooks. It wouldn't be comfortable to type if you had a keyboard in there, if one even fits. The desk definitely fits a 17" monitor. Hope this helps. :)

There is no drop for the keyboard and the drawer is just a regular drawer. I have my keyboard on top of the desk, and it isn't a major problem. I am using the desk to hold a 21.5" monitor and it works just fine. The desk is sturdy and has plenty of room.

the drawer does NOT drop for a keyboard, however a standard sized keyboard does, in fact, fit inside the drawer. I drilled a hole in the bottom, ran the wire out the back up and around to the laptop so my wife could take the keyboard out of the drawer and use in-lap.

Apparently it does not have a tip-out keyboard tray (which is disappointing). But, with a drill, a screwdriver, and a special hinge (such as the Rev-A-Shelf LD-0220-50SC available on Amazon for $12.50), you could make the drawer front drop down.

I don't think it would hold a heavy dutie one. I have the green hello kitty one and I wouldn't try to put it on this desk.

Yes. That's what I use mine for. Mine is approximately 20 pounds. So far, it's held up.

I have it. I don't thing it is designed specifically for sewing machine but you can use it for that purpose too.

I'd say it's slightly off white. With a piece of printer paper sitting in it you can tell it has a slight tint of off white.

It's definitely not a bright white. However, it's not off-white either. In my review, I described it as a dull white just because it's not nearly as white or shiny as my bright glossy white trim molding.
