I decided to buy 2 of these yesterday after reading some reviews. If you have only standard dvds then you probably wont be satisfied with this product as the shelving isnt made to perfectly hold standards in order. if you have alot of blus, it will work with some judgement. I have blu rays on the 1st and 4th shelves and dvds on 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th shelves as you can see. the only way i got this to work is if you are willing to fix all shelves by screwing each board into place perfectly. you could just set the board onto each row but it may put too much weight on the bottom row. I suggest you screw each shelve in place. The backboard to this product has a major crease from it being folded, but you cant see mine anyway. This is pretty much exactly what i was looking for. about 15 mins to put each together, so its pretty quick. i think overall it looks nice for what i need for $27 each.

I am going to walmart to pick up my third media shelf today. My boyfriend collects cds and this is exactly what we wanted! The adjustable shelves are great for storing dvds and other things, and it is just the right size to fit in the nook in our apartment. It may not be as tall as they look in the picture (they are about 4 ft), but they are great. The best part is the price!!! A+++++

I've been looking for a reasonably priced tower to store DVDs for awhile. I saw this on display in a store and knew that I had to buy it because the black would match my living room furniture perfectly, the tower is tall enough (just over 4 feet), and best of all it was under $30. Although I spent almost 3 hours putting this together, the end product does look great! Here is why it took me so long to assemble: 1. The bottom shelf (about 9.5 inches deep) sticks out farther than the rest of the shelves (about 5.5 inches deep). So when it was time to turn the unit over to nail in the backing, the tower couldn't lay flat. The instructions say to use magazines to even it out. I did that but still when I tried to hammer in the nails the unit was coming apart where the two halves of the tower come together. I attached the parts together again and tried to put in the nails and it came apart again. So I just ended up putting the backing on each half separately, then with the tower upright I nailed in the part where the backing of the two halves overlap. 2. You have to figure out yourself where to put in the nails for the backing. 3. Because of the fixed shelf in the middle, this tower can only have four shelves fit for DVDs so it took me some time to figure out how I wanted to arrange the shelves. Even though I came into these 3 problems, the tower turned out fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone. I might even buy another one since I plan to add to my DVD collection.

I bought this because I could not find a media tower specifically for Blu Rays. However after assembling this piece, I found that I could not only store my Blu Rays but also my video games, DVD's, and even my manga! Since it has adjustable shelves I could perfectly fit them to the height of my DVD's, another shelf to the a different height for my Blu Ray's, and so on. I did not feel the need to fix it to the wall, however many people with kids or pets may opt to do so, is great that they give you the option.

    Waste of Space

We had previously purchased three DVD shelves very similar to this one. We love these shelves -- great value, great use of space, etc. This one looked similar and we needed more space. It matches the color and design, but is slightly taller. We made peace with the fact that it wouldn't match exactly. But what stinks about these shelves is that with the one fixed shelf, you really only get four shelves for DVDs and end up with two smaller CD size shelves. We don't have CDs, so this is just wasted space unless we want to lie DVDs on their side. The previous shelves we purchased had five completely usable shelves. What a disappointment.

    • A. I would say definitely NOT ! The depth will not allow for a shoe to sit in such a way that it can be easily seen while in a storage space, and you probably could only fit maybe 8 pairs on it (by separating the pair and placing them back to back on the skinny shelf)

    • A. No,it isn't really deep enough from front to back. You'd probably be betterof with one of the "hang it from the inside of a closet door type of deals. Sorry.

    • A. I don't think so. The shelves are adjustable, so I don't think the height would be a problem, but the unit itself isn't very deep. The depth of each shelf is about the size of the base of a standing DVD. So, unless you have tiny feet or want to store them sideways, I wouldn't recommend this shelf for shoes.

    • A. No, the unit does not have any holes in the back section. How ever the back is made of heavy grade paper board and held in place by small nails. You could easily cut a small hole in the back where ever you desired. Keep in mind that the hole should be as small as possible, as the back of the unit is what gives the unit its strength after assembly.

    • A. No. I had to cut a hole. I use the top shelf for my DVD player and remotes and a 13" analog TV sits on top of it in my craft room. It's easy to simply cut a hole in the back with a utility knife. But remember, it needs that piece on the back to keep the unit stable. Seems to work great for that.
