Customer Product Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5★ by 395reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Decent for the price I purchased this product around May of 2012. I had just moved into a smaller apartment and the sofa I had would not fit so I had to get something new until I could figure out something. I read the reviews and saw quite a few mixed feelings and experiences on this product. I decided to purchase it at my local Walmart since the price was good and it would fit into my decor.Putting it together was fairly easy, I had a helper and it took us about an hour to assemble it. One thing I have noticed from some of negative reviews are people mentioning the welds breaking underneath them on the support. You have to pay attention to which way the support is facing, there is a right and a wrong way. If you look at the seat base you will notice that it's very easy to put the base in upside down (with the welds on the bottom) if it's not right, after time your weight will snap the welds. Make sure the welds are on the top and you will have no problem. The mattress isn't the highest quality but, you have to remember, you get what you pay for. I have had an expensive futon in the past with a quality mattress and the mattress that comes with this futon really isn't a true futon mattress. It does serve it's purpose though. If you look inside you will see that it's not high quality material. This futon is the only seating in my living room so I sit on it everyday and although the mattress is not high quality it works fine. I'm always shifting myself around from sitting to laying down and back again and the mattress has held up fine. Yes it has flattened out a bit but it's not to bad. I tend to fall asleep on it every night while watching TV and I have always felt decent when I have gotten up.I did take the metals brackets off that keep the mattress from sliding off because they do tend to fall off if you hit them just right. Even though I took them off the mattress has not slid off the frame or moved once. I have a small dog with long hair and the mattress cover is easy to vacuum and keep clean. The back does tend to lean back a little more than I would like but it's not that much of an inconvenience. As I mention I do move around quite a bit on it and there have been no bolts falling off or welds breaking. It has held up well. Also it is my only seating in the living room so it is in use constantly. The picture shows what it looks like now 7 months later. I'm glad I purchased it and do recommend it to anyone. 12/27/2012
Rated 4 out of 5★ by The Aww/Ooo Bed! First of all I bought my product online and it did not come in a box like the one in the store does, It came in two boxes and the matteres was wrapped in plastic. It was easy to put together maybe 30 minutes, You have a set of tools, but they are tiny and you have a lot of screwing to do. It's very comfy in parts if you set to long in the middle you will feel the metal bar up your butt. When it's all the way out it comes up if you lay in the middle and I made the mistake of leaning to far one side and the bed fell to the floor. I would recommend this product, but maybe a new matteress. Hope this helped!! 08/22/2010
Rated 4 out of 5★ by great value Ok, so the reviews for this sofa are mixed and I nearly didn't buy it. I am glad I did however. This couch took me about an hour and a half to put together and it looks great. It is sturdy, with none of the other issues taht other reviews mention. The only thing to consider about this sofa is the mattress. If it was a couple of inches thicker it would be better, but it's not too bad. I think that this sofa is great value for the price. 11/16/2009
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Sad bought this as a starter couch. Thought it would last long enough till I could afford a living room set. I was very wrong in this thought. Futon looked great. I own it for 6 months and just noticed the frame cracked in the center and the futon now sags terribly in the center. Mattress is shot already it flattened out and there is no cushion left. I wasted my money and now have to look into replacing it. Anyone looking to buy a futon should spend the extra money and buy a real one. This one was not worth the money I paid for it. 02/04/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Excellant Product This is the best deal i have seen in awhile on futons. I searched for weeks before finding such a good deal that will allow you to pick it up at any walmart. I saved 51 dollars in shipping by picking it up myself. There are 2 boxes which fit in my back seat and one rolled up mattress which i tied to the roof. I cant beleive the comfort and how it stands out in my parlor. I am not a person that writes reviews, but this one is worth telling you how good i feel about this deal. Dont pass up the opertunity to get one of these, good luck, dervy56. 02/20/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Been a sturdy addition to the office We've owned this futon for about 2 years now and it's used strictly for guests when the guest room isn't available. No one who's ever slept on it has complianed, nor taken the option for a couch or floor instead. I'm 6'5" and don't sleep on it, but we do use it regularly as a sofa in the office. We've had no mechanical failures, including bending. The mattress has pretty much collapsed over time, but it's not like we expected national brand mattress quality, either. Like many others, we feel the piece is solid and attractive. I think someone observed that the mattress grid may have been installed upside down for those who are having problems. I can see how that could have happened and I can also see how much weaker it would be if not assembled correctly. I'm here because we're contemplating buying another for a garage loft and the critical reviews really gave me pause. But after looking at the good ones, we've decided to buy this one again. It's just a great value for the money, as long as you don't have to use it daily or for your primary bed. I would have given it straight 5 stars but I think the design for supporting the sleeper(s) is not as good as other bargain futons. 05/17/2010
Rated 3 out of 5★ by eh, its ok It did what we needed, but it is NOT as plush/thick as the picture. The mattress is more of a pad than a mattress.. its only a few inches thick. My husband and I got it to use as a bed for a short time when we moved, and it was not stable enough to hold us both (300 pounds total between the 2 of us) so we put the mattress pad on the floor and it was as good as sleeping on a blanket. Since the pad is not plush or thick, its not amazing to look at but its not bad. may find better for the price. 03/21/2011
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Has A Short Life Within 6 months this futon had lost most of its cushion. Due to the cushion going flat the now cover appears over sized and hangs over on all edges. The arm rests are sturdy; however, the metal frame consists of little more than some undersized tubing with what looks like wire fence on top. This frame is not strong enough so it sags. This futon gets minimal use as it put in an extra room. What started out as a descent looking piece has turned into a ratty looking embarrassment that need replacement.I regret going economy in this situation. 06/14/2010
